Eco setting

Normal is fine for me it's the KERS which should be changed from the default of 3.

Unless on a motorway I leave my TCLR on N and Kers 3. Bigger battery so no range anxiety. Lovely to drive.

This is my rule of thumb.

KERS 1 if you want to do a long coast on the flat up to a junction.
KERS 2 for what I would call normal driving.
KERS 3 going downhill.

Due to the laws of thermodynamics, you will never regenerate all the energy you used to accelerate on the flat, so it is more efficient to use the weight of the vehicle's momentum to roll to a stop on the flat or coast on a slight downhill gradient.

Much the same way as I drove my last two Hybrids . Easy on the throttle and let the weight of the car do the work . It always amused me when we had owners complaining about their fuel efficiency on the forum when their driving style was to put the car in Sport ,foot flat on the loud pedal ...muppets

Of course if you use adaptive cruise control (ACC) regen is lost. However using last week on a 500 mile journey was quite wonderful. To be able to get into the ideal position behind a lorry and not worry about speed decrease or increase while getting the best efficiency because of the slip stream effect is really good.
For my normal driving I quite like the Level 3 regen and drive in either Normal or Eco. I do occasionally use the Speed mode if I want to impress my grandchildren. (only for very short and safe distances though)

There is no regen braking in ACC or Pilot unfortunately.
