Electricity price, are BGas taking the P ?

I got an email today from BGas who have taken over from Peoples energy, they want me to switch to one of their fixed tariffs.

Like I'm going to take them up on this unmissable offer.

Money saving expert advice is to stay on Std. Variable tariff which is capped by Ofgen. Some suppliers try and push fixed tariffs which aren't capped, and are much more expensive. They're trying to get you to pay more! Stay on Variable. When my supplier went bust, they moved me to EDF on the Std. Variable tariff. EDF haven't tried to stitch me up though.

Well if you fix for 2 years you don't need to worry about any price rises? but might be a bit upset if the price drops ?

If they go to the effort of sorting out the prices, then making an offer and presenting it to you "personally" it's because there's something in it for them.
