Has anyone got the Electroverse app to work in CarPlay?
If you have what ver of the entertainment system are you on?
Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't have thought getting the Electroverse app to work has anything to do with what version of the infotainment software is installed in the car.
Well my phone is running the latest ios, the app is the latest version, the only thing that is not changed is the infotainment version, hence the question.

The CarPlay UI comes from the phone, not the car. So if CarPlay works but the Electroverse app doesn't work inside it, that's a phone/app compatibility issue - I think most people use the Electroverse app outside CarPlay, just on their phones.

CarPlay versions of apps are often feature lacking and buggy because few people use them and so they don't get the testing, feedback and focus they deserve.

... I should also say that I use one of those wireless USB dongles, as beforehand the wired connection was a bit hit and miss on the SR 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️, everything is default on my car (including LKA defaulting to off 😁), so the right star button brings up the MG Radio screen & the left star button (on the steering wheel), brings up carplay.

I would agree but certain features, like choosing which side of the screen the task bar sits is also missing from the system screen in CarPlay. And the task bar randomly chooses which side to sit on depending on the wind direction and colour of the moon.

Again, that's a CarPlay thing ... mixed with a generic MG thing - it's not restricted to a specific version of Infotainment software, they all do it. (CarPlay either doesn't listen to the car, listens at the wrong time, or the car doesn't send the signal in a timely manner - either way CarPlay doesn't know which side of the car the driver sits so it seems to make a guess).

Android Auto has a setting that allows you to force which side the menu/taskbar should appear - why CarPlay doesn't offer such an option only Apple can say.

Then why do apps like BBC sounds, and Simple Audio Book player have a different interfaces on phone and Android Auto?

Did you quote the correct post when replying? As it is, your reply bears no relevance to the post you've quoted. (None that I can see anyway). 🤷‍♂️

Car play / android auto? It says the GUI comes from the phone not the car and my experience is different.

Post #10 on my screen shows that you clicked reply on post #7 .. the one I replied to in post #8. (i.e. the latter part of your reply #12). That is why your reply text made no sense ... you were replying to post #5 but quoted post #7. :)

I agree that what's shown on the car screen is a function of the AA/CP app together with how the compatible apps are coded. Post #7 was lamenting that the default CP car screen randomly decides where to put the menu bar ... that's an Apple decision to not have a CP setting to force the location. :)
