EU MG4 (all variants) - Service campaign SC077 is out, improving lane assist performance

Either you ask for a calibration or you connect the car to sips and we compare full module versions.Maybe there's a hardware difference as well, who knows without looking a the full diag data.

I'd personally invest 100 euros in a vci interface and finally get to the bottom of it.

They already calibrated it in may 2024 I think.
To be honest, if the car was like 5 years old I would have bought Sips. However, the car has been like this since day one and it is just a bit more than a year old. And SIPS will not help with hardware issues.
And since I received confirmation that this failure means the car does not comply with the type approval, I will go for non-conformity after consulting my legal representative.

Mine is one of the early ones (march 23) just after they removed the driver IR sensor. Truth be told it had always had a good camera and sensor calibration out of the factory.

It only has the mandatory updates applied including SC0077
Mine's one of the early ones too, also March 23. That seems to be the sweet spot for the MG4, post IR sleep sensor and post transmission oil leak but with good factory sensor calibration. The only downside is the CCU which needs replacing.

Although not many have actually responded, if one can do this is possibly a rare flaw but more likely a common characteristic of all (luxury/trophy) mg4's.
Recapp: LKA is able to recognize double solid lane markers.

I'm not sure why that's a problem ... I would have thought being able to recognise actual lane markers on both sides (double, single, dashed, etc.) would be a benefit. 🤷‍♂️

As explained above, mine does not recognize them. This is why I was asking if others experienced the same.
If so, it is more likely a common feature of the mg4. If not (like Nanomad) it is not a mg4 feature and my car is faulty.
Hope this helps. 🤷‍♂️

I had my car serviced today and received the LKA campaign update.

I have done limited miles since but I have tried leaving LKA/ELK on to see what happens.

It seems to be a big improvement. It was already reduced from a yank on the wheel to a tug by a previous software update.

Now it seems to be just a gentle pressure to correct, which feels appropriate and not alarming at all. Haven't had the opportunity to test in all conditions yet but today was driving rain under dark cloud on twisting A and B roads, plus dual carriageways, so a good basic test.

I have noticed the speed limit detection is improved, it seems to be correct most of the time and it also now flashes the lower limit when it is about to change, which is useful.

Sadly though, the car still cannot tell when it is on a dual carriageways or motorway, so it still thinks the national speed limit is 60mph and flashes unnecessarily over this.

Will perservere as these two remove two of my flight-check items before driving, although I fear I cannot remove the third check/change (AEB) as my car is probe to slam the brakes on when it shouldn't.

For anyone interested, the second service was £196.

I asked my dealer in Ukraine (Kyiv) and i was answered that my car's VIN does not fit this SC077 campaign update. I'm bit shocked, i didn't hear that SC077 relates to car VIN. I think it's global for all MG4 in Europe.

Checked your VIN and can confirm it's not listed

Issued to VINs associated with the EU as far as I'm aware, I'm about to go out for the day, when I get back I'll check some other VINs like Australian ones, etc to see if it is just EU or multiple regions.

Is the software update Free?

Hi, I am close to buying an MG4 2023 model (new, with a discount as a non 24 build). I would be very interested to know where the VIN list so I can ask/check before I commit. Essentially I don't want to get lumped with a unfixable lane assist issue - it sounds really annoying at least, and a potential danger at worst. If anyone could comment on my concern that would be great.

It’s an EU service campaign so an Aussie MG4 won’t be on that list. I think most Aussie drivers have reported a pretty tame LKA even before the SC came out, I wouldn’t be surprised if the EU/UK LKA is based on what we have here. Or maybe MG improved it even more and we’ll get our own SC in the future.
