It certainly would, but I think it is an excellent idea. The ICE car drivers would be livid, if all the EV's were swanning by (quietly, comfortably and with no pollution in our wake). Perhaps a letter to the PM to suggest it could be in order ?

Let's go for a 50mph limit for ICE and 70mph for EVs, that'll drive EV adoption.

That’ll be the lane crumbled and crushed under all the excess weight and covered in brake and dust with fewer and fewer vehicles on it as they litter the shoulders waiting forlornly with depleted inadequate batteries or worse - acting as street lighting as they blaze away.

The middle one should really be confined to the massively heavy and messy fuel delivery tankers so we can monitor just how much damage they are doing to the roads

• Maximum separation 1 car length.
• Compulsory light flashing and overtaking indicator.
• Obnoxiously loud music (minimum volume).
• A large sharp spike in the centre of the steering wheel (rather than an airbag).
• Removal of all safety equipment (or disabled), seatbelts cut, ABS disabled.
• Maximum tread depth 1mm.
• Must carry donor card.
