Wall box = Type 2 - just saying.

Here in NZ, there seems to be both type 1 and Type2 chargers/plugs installed in shopping centres. Everytime I go there all the type2 chargers are full and type1 empty. Is type 2 more of a common standard/plug in chargers and cars ??Type 2 is just the connection type for an AC plug/socket. Home wall boxes will typically be 7kW max (32A single phase). The maximum AC supply you'll get (in the UK at least) is 22kW AC (32A 3-phase). The maximum you can use depends on the car's onboard charger.![]()
Has anyone used an adapter to go from type1 plug to type2. All the type one plugs are empty and type2 plugs are full here at free charging stations at shopping centres. ? There are a few on Ali express, The ones sold in NZ want $300+ for themType 2 / CCS2 is the standard now in the UK. Some older cars use Type 1 (and some also use Chademo for the DC rapid charging - e.g. Nissan Leaf), but they're gradually phasing out.
Oh no not another one
Experts are thought to be considering banning all ICE vehicles from cities after yet another fueled vehicle catastrophy. Passengers were again lucky to escape with their lives.
My son has one for his LEAF so that he can use my wall charger. Works fine.Has anyone used an adapter to go from type1 plug to type2. I've dumped 300 kWh to the grid this month. My miserable EV owning neighbours weren't interested! Also, does every house in the street need its own wall box? Obviously there are logistics to work out such as how to ensure fair access to the device and proper payment, but most wall boxes are just sitting there most of the time. (I occasionally wonder whether my neighbours with the massed array of solar panels might offer me a bit of their free juice, but no joy so far!)
Come on Somerset council, get your act together and get with the program.
I agree that planning permission is neccessary, but there are literally hundreds of funded renewable energy projects and EV chargers which have been waiting nearly 5 years now for paperwork. It was the dragging of feet I was highlighting, and that is definately local governments fault. Not the councils fault surely? if they didn't enforce planning regs there would be all kinds of ugly/dangerous stuff built.
Or install charging points in lamp postsEV MISERY
Neighbours keep charging EVs via cables running out windows & over pavements – it’s SO dangerous but nothing stops them
Another EV bashing story in the Sun, Albeit I can actually see the issue here, to a point.
Councils have had so many complaints they are apparently going to have to do some enforcement.
Or put in pavement gullys.Or install charging points in lamp posts
