EV opposition in the media is ramping up

A little bit of background on GB News:
The channel is described as right leaning on political issues. It is jointly owned by hedge fund manager Sir Paul Marshall
Sir Paul Marshall: the son of Alan Marshall, managing director, Philippine Refining Company.

I would guess that says it all.
Are you suggesting they’re all tarred with the same crude brush ??

This is just getting ridiculous. Myth after myth after myth, and a presenter who is clearly biassed.

I laughed out loud at this interview when the guy went on about particulates from the tyres of EV's because they were heavier. Even Quentin laughed at that, because there are at least 10 deisel and petrol SUV's which are heavier than the heaviest EV. (Ref: Bob Llewellyn on Fully Charged)

The fleet managers with huge numbers of both EVs and ICE cars said that tyre wear was pretty much the same on both types of vehicle.

I'd say it depends on the car, I have worn out my front tyres a bit faster on my PFL MG5 than I did on my old Focus ST that was driven a lot quicker and speaking to our fleet Manager the Merc EQS are really going through their tyres.

With the MG5 I'd say it was more down to poor traction control, I spin the wheels more with 150ps in the 5 than I did with the 250ps ST.

Here's another load of regurgitated tripe!

Stop Burning Stuff have already issued a rebuttal, citing facts rather than heresay from the bloke in the pub.

And here's a proper journalist using proper data. :)

Couldn't read the article because it's behind a paywall but knowing her other output it will almost certainly be ill-informed culture war nonsense. She's an awful "journalist"

Jeez, that redefines dishonesty. And ignorance.

"View Source" is your friend. It's all that you predicted though.

I have a subscription to the Telegraph and generally avoid anything by Alison Pearson on account of its poorly researched subjects or just plain rubbish writing. I am really struggling to remember why I don't just cancel.

I looked up the dictionary definition of journalist;

"A journalist is a person whose job is to collect news, and write about it in newspapers or magazines or talk about it on television or radio".

No mention of truth or honesty there. :)

That isn't even news, it's an opinion piece, and opinions are like Arseholes, everybody has one.

How does that work again ?

Right-click on the bit of text you can see. A menu comes up, and you select "View Source". The raw html is displayed, which is a pain to read, but it's all there.

It doesn't work with every newspaper but it does with the Telegraph.

I wonder if the Fire Brigade really have a 2024 calendar with a Tesla on fire for every month?

I think pressing F12 does the same on WIndows machines.

Burning EVs are only news as it isn't an everyday occurrence!

Daily Fail did an article showing Storm Babet. Claimed this car was inundated in an Essex Ford. Series of shots show it getting through. Guess the model!

Could have a least given it praise for success but not their agenda!
