Does the facelift navigation system show live traffic? I can’t seem to make it display traffic on the screen like Google maps does. I would prefer to use the built in system instead of CarPlay if it does traffic…

No

Looks like I'll be using Android Auto for the first time ever and relying on good old Google maps. Wonder what MG's thinking was behind no live traffic on the inmfotainment system? Oversight, cost?
Does the facelift built-in system offer alternative routes in the evnt of a road closure, roadworks etc.?

It does — and it works really well. You can look at the instructions on the route and hit the delete key on any one to reroute from there

@Pebble
The built-in sat nav is provided by Naviextras, so is a third-party app. For some years now MG have used that company’s products for their in-car SatNav. Naviextras is a Hungarian company which may explain why live UK traffic information is not included, perhaps.

One other thing to be aware of, map updates are almost always not free. Unfortunately the price is usually about £100 for any major update.

I am not an expert on this but do other car manufacturers in-built satnavs have live traffic updates ?
My old Toyota didn't even have map updates let alone live traffic, but it was quite old.

Yes they do, my fathers ford mondeo has a traffic aware system that works well. I would love this for the MG as well. But due to trade restrictions for China they are not allowed to use their own built navigation. So that is why the systems in China cars run different SW from EU/UK cars.

Thanks for that, I wasn't aware of it, I looked it up and saw that that Live Traffic was only on certain vehicles with the Ford Pass Connect subscription and costs £3.99 per month.
I think I would probably stick to Google maps or Waze with free live traffic updates anyway. :)
