A lot of us will be having (or had ) their first service. After mine last week, I asked for a copy of what was done and I was told that it is all on line. I haven’t a problem with this but I cannot find out how to access this information. For that matter neither can the man on their service desk. He is meant to be looking into it but has not come back to me. Any body any ideas?

Just had my first service today. SOH 95% after 12 months 4300 miles.
I would say 90% of my charging is done at home with 10% been rapid charging.
My understanding is this is normal for this battery type and not too concerned about it, but will be interesting to see what it is next year. I don’t expect it to drop another 5% next year.

How often do you let the battery balance at 100% charge?

Bear in mind when making comparisons that LR and SR cars behave differently.

The LR car NMC battery has upper and lower buffers (unused charge capacity) to protect the battery from extremely high and low SoC, which can cause harm. Over time these buffers are typically reduced as the battery ages to help maintain overall capacity. Therefore for the first few years it is normal to see very little degradation, but in later years it can become more apparent once the buffers are depleted.

The SR car LFP battery has no buffers, 100% is always usable, plus it has a tendency to lose a few percent of the overall capacity in the first year (which is noticeable as there's no buffer to mask it) and then has a very flat curve which means it will deteriorate very little in subsequent years - lasting considerably longer than the NMC chemistry in typical usage.

What people are reporting here is consistent with their battery type and normal expectations, including yours.

I'm fully expecting my SoH (when it gets scanned again on 03-Jan-24 because they can't find the original service paperwork) to be around the 95% mark. Anything higher will be a bonus. :)

Thanks for this, apprechiated : Anyone got their HV battery SOH value after their 1st service?
I also got a printed copy of the completed checklist, and a little business card with MG Assist extension details. HV Battery SOH was 100% after 8500 miles (Trophy).

The online service record mentioned above is just a pdf of a blank service record - nothing completed automatically

Wonder what the vehicle protection kit is ?

Having the same problems accessing the digital service record, went back to the workshop today to demand the paper copy of the worksheet , got fobbed off by them saying its all on the I-smart app, has anyone else found theirs on this app? when I inquired about the SOH they said at the time the computer was broke and they could not do it . they absolutely refused to access the computer and print off the service record, which leads me to believe that they didn't do that much. They did change the pollen filter 5000 kms ,1 year, again I argued that was unnecessary and they did drain out some screen wash and replace it with their premium brand , they refused to stamp and sign the service booklet , so all I have is a receipt for some product I did not need and a tyre kick and a verbal promise that the breakdown cover has been extended, which I cannot prove one way or another. To be continued........?

You can ring the company who provide the breakdown cover and they should be able to tell you if its been renewed from the registration number. In the UK it's the AA, I don't know who it is in France.

I've just had a 2nd service, I got 2 sheets of A4 paper, a single page Service History Report & a corrosion warranty annual inspection report. I think all the info is on their (Paul Rigby Reddich) system (which is only accessible by them), but I've just called them to see what the SoH* (100%) was and whether MG Assist had been registered (=Yes).

It looks like what has been done as expected, i.e. changed / checked the brake fluid, changed the pollen filter & maybe the batteries in the remotes, with importantly no updates (as my LKA defaults to off every time, and still does now), all for the service price plan quoted on the MG website (£213).

* = strange as car scanner is showing 94.48% which is more what I'm expecting for a 25,000 mile LFP battery.

As Ian advised, rang the assistance (breakdown) people, and it has been updated to Aug 25. So whether they updated the digital service for the service history, which by their own (verbal) admission is incomplete, I cannot yet determine.

This is not a dedicated MG workshop but a family run enterprise who have the official Nissen/MG franchises, and dealerships renting the premises.

The official MG dealer does not want to be involved (surprise) and says all workshop/warranty claims go through the workshop manager (independent). Another layer of separation and bureaucracy between customer and factory. ?
