Fix to get MG- ismart app to connect every time.

As I said on another forum where drivers of various brands are complaining of the same thing the weather has probably maxed out demand on the backend infrastructure that they are no doubt paying peanuts for. Unlike other brands iSmart is reliably unreliable in my 2+ years experience of it.

Looks like an infrastructure issue as currently iSmart works outside of the UK
 
Mine wasn't connecting yesterday and I don't usually have any problems. It's back working again today (11/01/2025 @ 05:30) so it looks like as @phil99 said it was a mobile phone signal problem.
 
During this cold weather I have tried to scan the car via the app prior to remotely setting the heater but the app timed out and failed to connect. Oddly I could still preheat the car (and seats) simply by using the Climate button on the app. So if you cannot scan the car do not despair as the climate may still work
 
Mine is pretty reliable - though I still have to pull down on the app several times to get it to connect to the car and wake up.

There was a period in the early new year where it stopped working for a day or two, I think that was infrastructure issues.

Very slowly it has been getting more reliable for me, suggesting that the servers are improving somewhat.

Would be very helpful if the app told you WHY it couldn't connect:
  • No signal to car.
  • No response from servers.
  • Car not responding.
