?It's just annoying that a charger with CCS doesn't fill up our car. ?

Yes, it isn't an unreasonable expectation, that's expensive for a software update, but I guess that's why MGs are cheap to buy in the first place. It's just annoying that a charger with CCS doesn't fill up our car. ?
As it should be.The MG4 does it without any need for modification.
Well I can’t agree on that point they are not cheap cars nowadays and many other manufacturers have very similar prices but there cars work on all chargers including Tesla.Yes, it isn't an unreasonable expectation, that's expensive for a software update, but I guess that's why MGs are cheap to buy in the first place.
I recall this being because Tesla made changes that stopped some cars from working (not just MGs). These are complicated protocols and everyone implements them differently so compatibility can be an issue as can be how a given charger maker or car maker interprets the specification. So in the cases, MG could argue Tesla broke things and Tesla could argue MG wasn't compliant. As it should be.
But many forum members are determined to leap to the defense of MG on this one saying it wasn't their fault on cars that weren't complaint, blaming Tesla.

This is also why people said Tesla could fix it by reversing their change.
Should a car manufacturer have to retrospectively fix something that changed due to another company? For how long?
How do you know? Do you or did you work for their charger team?Tesla changed nothing
This is old ground, if you search about you can find the information. How do you know? Do you or did you work for their charger team?
Ok, I am not going to continue to go over old ground. Was trying to help you understand the conversation but it seems you already knew, just didn't agree with it.This is old ground, if you search about you can find the information.
And I repeat: CCS is a standard.
Not wanting to high jack this thread but what is the low millage service? Mine is going in soon for 2year service and has 9k on it.I just booked my MG5 FL in to Arnold Clark in Kirkcaldy for a year 2 service. It has 8500 miles on the clock. The service receptionist didn't know about the low mileage service, but checked and I'm getting it. I then said I needed the Tesla charge software update, plus the fix for the infotainment system not powering down. Surprisingly, I was told that services don't include ANY software updates! She's checking, but it doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.
Does anyone know of a link to official MG policy on updates?
Under 10k is low mileage between 10-15k is high. Not wanting to high jack this thread but what is the low millage service? Mine is going in soon for 2year service and has 9k on it.

Select your model to show both the normal services and the low mileage ones. Not all models have the low mileage option - mostly newer ones. The normal service is for 15,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. Low mileage is where you do up to 10,000 over the year.
As owner of MK1 ZSev exclusive I hoped to charge using Tesla superchargers several times this summer in Ireland and north England. Even tried v4 Teslas at gretna via contactless.Hi to all here I have only just found this thread not been on here for a couple of weeks really but there appears to be some confusion still about MG vehicles and open to all Tesla superchargers that are open to all makes.
This all started with the MG5 and after a long debate in that forum it was established thanks to Miles Robert’s that the long range models face lifted or pre FL should be able to charge at Tesla points, and if they didn’t work the dealers should be able to apply a software update fix and the cost of doing this the dealer could claim back from MG Motors.
With no cost to owners this is what was reported on the podcast and was correct at that time.
My car a 2022 FL trophy LR was fixed via a software update FOC by my dealer Chorley MG in Chorley and now works fine
Several weeks later this appeared to be changed of tune by MG to say it was now at the dealers discretion which I said at the time was most annoying.
Several owners apart from myself have had this work done on there MG cars FOC but it is now obvious it was not just the MG5 that had this issue but also the ZSEV.
To the best of my knowledge the MG4 does not have this issue my wife has a 4 SR and I have charged that on a supercharger without any problems.
So it appears the debate goes on and that shouldn’t be the case an update is available for certain but not all models that we know, which dealers will apply it FOC is the point of this thread and many thanks to Gadjet Geek for starting it, and as I see it in a nutshell, the information required is if your car has been fix to enable the open to all Tesla network to be used is.
Which car
Model
Year
Which Dealer did that fix FOC.

Bedford MG Glyn HopkinAs there are a few threads about this, if you have received a free Tesla supercharger update, please post the name, address and contact details of the dealership which performed it.
