Well, it arrived today and literally minutes after the Zappi was installed. A socially distanced handover- which was a little odd and then playtime.

The Lane departure warning system drove me nuts until it was turned off. I also thought the charge port was broken at one point as I couldn’t unplug the connector, but it turned out that the weight of the cable was pulling it slightly to one side and easing that pull off solved the problem - it has to be completely straight to unplug.

I‘m on taking SWMBO to work duty for the rest of the week as she rightfully pointed out that it might not be the brightest of ideas her venturing there by herself in the dark both ways in a strange car and not having driven an auto for years. The last one she drove was a Carlton GSi 24v, so shows how long ago that was.

All the best ?

Have all the updates been applied to the best of your knowledge, concerned when you mentioned the Lane departure driving you mad!

It’s defo got the temp displayed in the infotainment system, so how else would I tell?

I went out some twisty bits this afternoon and was crossing the lines on narrow lanes - a bit of discipline managed to sort it, but I preferred to switch it off - even though there were several settings

Amusingly, in the Prius, if you sway over the lines too many times a warning comes up on the display showing a coffee cup and asks if you need a break. :sneaky:
I turned it off on the Prius as well as the MG.

I switch it off with the button on the end of the lights stalk. Funny how it stays off most of the times when I restart - and sometimes it's on again. No bother to switch it off again if that happens. Useful to have LKA there when switching on MG Pilot on motorways.

It can be turned off permanently in the infotainment menu (if your car has Comfort 2, I think?). Doesn’t affect the functionality of MG Pilot.

Ah that I did not know. But, still would like to have LKA available (without alarms) when driving motorway without MG Pilot. And not having to bother with car settings in infotainment menu. Using the button on the lights stalk is easy to get used to.

The default display between the speedo and power meter seems to be the LKA - with the side lines that turn red when I “transgress”. Also has ACC - - - at the top. The little speed limit sign in the top left is useful, but too small for me to read the actual numbers! Can that be “brought out” and made bigger somehow? I’d have thought that was a KEY piece of info and to have it virtually illegible seems odd to me. If I go sideways on the steering wheel left / right control, I do get a screen with a decent sized speedo on - but it only stays in place for a few seconds before going back to the LKA default screen.

It’s all a learning curve ain’t it. Like the overhead light switch group of three. I really can’t see the point of the centre one which overides the door open lights being on. I suppose it could be useful if you leave the doors open for a long period and could avoid battery drain - but it’s never a problem I’ve had before. Perhaps there isnt a “battery saver” feature which switches everything off after x minutes.

I’m not actually sure whether the screen I’m referring to above is LKA or LDW - just thought I’d get that admission in. Cheers

Ok, so on a trip out this morning, firstly the front camera said it was blocked and gave an ongoing message advising me of the fact. Then the speed display returned and stayed, with what looked like a blanked out speed limit sign - ok, I can understand that if it can’t see due to the camera. When I inspected the camera on returning home I could see that the camera was misted up on the inside of its shroud at the top of the windscreen. I’m going out later and will report again. Is this a common problem & what’s the fix?

cheers - Rob

Yes, there have been reports on here of mist in front of the camera. The only solutions seems to be to whack the fans on for a bit.

Well I’ve managed to get the main speed display with legible speed limit to stay on full time by switching off all the Lane assist features. I can switch them back on now at a time, or maybe not, to see which the offender is. It’s quite useful having the speed limit display next to the speed you are doing - when the camera isn’t fogged up that is.

I have to say that having default settings that irritate the hell out of a new owner hasnt been a joyous experience at all, it‘s almost as if the “human interface experience“ was implemented by Microsoft!
