Hi All. Can anyone tell me the overall length of the granny charger which comes with the MG4 please? Socket outlet in the garage is not ideally placed and I need to understand if I need a dedicated extension lead with RCD. TIA.

🙂👍

I 100% knew that the granny would be too small before I got a charger so I bought the 10m one from screwfix by master plug before I picked the car up. Did the trick and as it had to run through my bathroom (bathroom is behind the kitchen there was no way I’d have a join in the cable around a bathroom).

Happy to say it did well and also displays charge rate, kWh consumed on the display. There is a new version which Halfords are currently selling for a better price than screwfix.

Similar to me, the MG granny is great.
But I have to get very near to the front door as the socket I use is in the hall.
So sent for a 6 metre granny charger.
It came today. So just using it now. It's a
3.3 kW one as well. So slightly faster than the MG granny at 2.3 kW.
Cost 90 quid. 🙂👍

I wouldn't recommend running it at 3.3kW as that will cook the socket. Can you drop it to 10A?
