Hello guys, want to ask you about ground clearance :) sorry if this topic was discussed already, i didn't find it.
So, according to full spec of MG4 (MG4 Electric - Agile electric hatchback) it has ground clearance:
  • 150 mm in unladen state / 117 mm in laden state for models with 17" wheels (Standard and Comfort)
  • 160 mm in unladen state / 132 mm in laden state for models with 18" wheels (Luxury, Trophy, XPOWER)

The question, is it enough for you or its too low?

Not had any issues, go over serval speed humps to and from work and never scraped the bottom.
Thank you.
I've compared the values with MG ZS EV (MG ZS EV) and was bit shocked :)
MG ZS EV has ground clearance 161 mm (unladen state) that is almost equal to MG4. SUV car has clearance almost equal to hatchback :) Looks strange as to me.

It’s been fine for me but I’m conscious about tall humps and go over them pretty slowly. I think I might have bottomed out once in the early days and since then I never tried my luck again. If in doubt I approach humps at an angle

The curb at our drive was raised by tree roots. The clearance wasn't enough to clear that all the time, depending on angle and speed driving/backing out.
I gave up on the council fixing the curb and removed the tree roots myself. The clearance is now fine. But I certainly wouldn't want it any lower.

I worried about this with my kia soul ev and the mg4 - rather than just scratching the undercarriage I could be totalling £20k+ of battery and writing the car off effectively.
I changed my driving style and rather than aiming to get a wheel either side of the speed bump I now try to get nearside wheels on one hump and offside on the other, giving a large space under the battery. Worked so far ??

No clearance issues for me in the Trophy so far, granted I haven't been through the extremes of road surfaces but I used to scrape the bottom of my old Honda Civic on the speed bumps in my estate and had no such issues with the MG4!

I did scrape the bottom - even driving on an angle - over the deep gutter out of our recycling centre. I've only had my car a few months and haven't needed to go there again yet, but shall be extra cautious the second time.

I took a look at this bridge, but then decided that the massive holdup due to roadworks and three-way lights on the alternative route was preferable.
