Bit of a long story short for background; my less than a year old MG ZS was crashed into in the summer. It needed a replacement front bumper, front wing, side wing, wheel arch, fog light and main front light. My insurers repairs (DLG Autoservices in Stockton as a side-note to name and shame) did a really shoddy job of the bodywork and I needed to send it back several times for them to have another go to do the job properly.

Anyway, I thought we were all sorted, that was until the dark nights kicked in this week (I don’t do much night time driving). When in traffic jam behind a white Transit it became obvious my headlight alignment was out – one side points much higher than the other.

If I can avoid the pain of going back (again) to the repairers and my car being sent away on another 40 mile trip while I’m lumbered with courtesy car I’d certainly prefer to! So, I was wondering how easy it is to realign the LED headlights myself? I’m not very mechanical and even had to google re-aligning headlights was “a thing” that could be done with cogs or screwdrivers on the back of headlights on some cars, whereas others are best left to experts.

I noticed there was nothing in the handbook to point me in the direction of what I need to do so thought I’d turn to this wise forum to see if anyone can kindly point me in the right direction please.

I think get in touch of your local dealer they probably the best to get the alignment to as it should be

I would say pop over to a mot test centre I am sure for a bit of beer money they can set it up on the head light tester

Any garage with a beam setter can do the job. it's also simple enough to do yourself but you can't be certain about accuracy.
