Home Charging Solutions

I've just had a EO mini Pro 3 from Hive installed . I'm on their new EV tariff @ 7.9 pence/kwh off peak . 25.98 pence ,peak and 48.69 pence per day standing charge . I went with them as I have been a customer for yrs and they are currently offering a yrs free charging ( for me more like 8 months due to my mileage ) and 6 month interest free credit on the charger . I had a local installer fit the charger as British gas couldn't install because they're too busy with loads of people taking up the offer .
Freecharge automatically programmes the charger to operate between 00:00 and 05:00 and so far has worked perfectly.
For me it made sense , might not for others.

Hi all

We are expecting our X Power to be delivered on 2nd September. Still need to sort a charger out and wondering what people have gone for on here. I'm thinking untethered as it's a little neater.

We will probably only need to charge the car once maybe twice a week if I maintain a heavy right foot ?
I opted for 7 metre tethered and I am really pleased with it. It wraps nicely around the charger. Also less need to keep pushing a plug in and out of the socket. The 7 metres reaches car either end of my car port. MG5 front socket.

Yes, it's great having your own fuel station at home! I have 2, a slow charger on 13A (2.4kW) and 32A (~7.25kW) commando for faster charging. can take it from empty to full in about 7hrs. Managing 29.8A at the roadside with a 32A - type 2 charger I bought off ebay unused for £60

I bought our Ohme Home Pro with an 8m cable and it's come in very handy as it doesn't matter who parks where on the drive. It's mounted in the garage out of the weather too. I got it online from EVBug for £580 and a local electrician who has done work for us in the past fitted it at the same time as he upgraded our consumer unit which was 25 years old. £250 for the Ohme installation, making the total cost for the charger £830, a saving of about £70 over a combined supply and install deal for a 5m cable version.

Tariff is Octopus Intelligent Go and as posted previously, after six months we had covered 4,000 miles at a cost of £80, all from home charging and our electricity bills have fallen as we load-shift to the off-peak periods
