How do you dry & avoid these water spots when washing your mg4?

I absolutely love this car size and height. It makes washing it pretty fast.

But... Ive found 3 places that no matter what i do - i always get water stuck in them and then they drip and leave ugly water spots...

1) Below this red thing, rear window, below this plastic there's a "cushion" that traps water and i cant stick the microfiber to dry it. And then it starts dripping leaving a water mark trail from top to bottom.

I tried drying... And then opening the back door to let it drain all it can. And dry again. But its hard to dry these holes (and it goes all to the sides as well)

2) the front grill - below the license plate - water sticks behind these as its not entirely closed. And then it drops leaving the lower part with small pools again.

3) below the tailight - above the rear license plate, this also traps water. The button to open back door, and the license plate lights holes. These drip as well leaving a water mark from this to the bottom....

And its not like i can shake the car so these water spots drop faster lol

Oh and also this - opening hood and doors there are places where water get in and stay inside:

This plastic -not a place to step- that looks like a step to get in. Traps a lot of water :/

And the hood... Many places. Near where we open it. And below the wipers, the grill to let water go out - these actually trap water and shampoo.

What do you guys do about these?

P.s. today i saw my first scratch. No idea how it happened... It lost gloss, it doesnt feel deep (superficial?) - hopefully it can be fixed... It's hard to protect black but it look so good

You can see a slash-from left to right in the middle of this pic. When i washed it - this wasnt here.

The lady that helps us with cooking was watering the plants in this area... I suspect she hit the car with the hose gun or something ?

Our previous high mile Honda FRV was black and it was an absolute PIA. It had 174K when we sold it, but it was covered in all manner of marks showing up the light undercoat.

Never understood why mfrs can't use a similar coloured undercoat to the top coat.

Personally I use a microfibre drying towel. I used to use Chamois leather, but the microfibre towel makes it a doddle.

For the door shuts I use a waterless cleaning spray, and again wipe with a smaller microfibre cloth.

After washing either go over the car with a leaf blower to blow the water off the car OR go for a coffee and let it dryas you drive OR don’t use water - just use waterless polish from the start ?

First time I personally wash my car so many times lol and i used to have a black Mitsubishi lancer before.

And i dont remember so many dirty spots like this...

Im waiting with anxiety for my graphene ceramic to arrive and see if this fixes these sticky dirt and dust

I clean those areas like I clean the outside, so I use a clean microfiber cloth and some shampoo. These area can at times be done by simply using a waterless wash.

After washing the car, if you can Go for a drive around the block, then open all doors hood boot and the charging port flap

Then as @Archev wrote, use a micro fibre cloth.

I didn’t see you mention the charging port flap: that traps so much water around the perimeter where the seal is, you need to open and close the flap several times.

It’s not hell my friend it’s pure heaven. I think all the car polish makers produce a version.
I’ve used it for years now.
Spray it on and leave it for a few minutes. Then take it off with a microfibre towel and polish with a second, clean microfibre. So easy and leaves a terrific shine.
Go on, be a devil, try it ??

I dry mine using microfibre towels and Autoglym's RapidAqua Wax. Any water marks that appear afterwards are easily removed with Autoglym's Rapid Detailer.

Oh dumb me - i never checked that... I will now. Im sure it needs drying now. Guess mg forgot to seal these parts from trapping water. Design flaw.
