How to set up cabin preconditioning on MG4 SE SR?

I am new to this. I Have MG4 SE Long Range. Use an Ohme ePod charger. The app allows me to set cabin preconditioning but says Turn on settings in your EV first. As far as I can see the iSmart app has no option to set this. All I see is HVAC ON/OFF in real time rather than as part of a schedule setting from the app. I can see no option inside the card on the infotainment screen. Anyone confirm that my vehicle is capable of setting preconditioning from the mains after charging but still cable connected?

No scheduling can be done - you can only turn it on in the app as you have seen. It can be done twice in a row and no more to prevent too much drain on the battery

As far as I recall you can't schedule cabin preconditioning, but you can turn it on and set the desired temperature via the app. You don't need to have done anything specific in the car beforehand that I can remember.

Following instructions are based on using the MG 100 Years theme in the app:

Click the tile in the app (where it shows the temperature) and it'll let you change the desired target temperature.
If you change it then it'll ask for confirmation (your PIN or biometrics if you've enabled that) and then turn on the HVAC for 10 minutes - it'll give a message about this.
If you don't want to change the temperature than click back and click the "Power" button in the temperature tile - you'll get the PIN/biometrics prompt again.

You can only fire up the remote HVAC for 2 lots of 10 minutes in any (unknown, but maybe an hour or two) period.

I usually set my target temp to HI and use it on cold mornings to defrost the windows.

Can't switch it on or off separately because it automatically adjusts based on the ambient temperature

Especially in spring and autumn, it sometimes has problems

I would use mine a lot more if the lights didn't come on. I hope they change that in a future update.
