I smart app not connecting to car

@csimeon, can you try clearing the app's cache? You probably will need to login again, with a ticked privacy notice. But such an action has cured a number of things on my phone, eg. couldn't receive texts.

Clearing cache did not work. Could not log in or out, only logo screen
I uninstalled, installed again, logged in.
It's ok now
The new installation has a slightly different UI. I think it's a new update, but Google store did not say an update was needed, I had checked before reinstalling...

The simple answer is to wait and it will return. Unlocking the car sometimes works. Refreshing the status a number of times sometimes works. Using the car sometimes works. ...

To be fair to the previous respondant to this, no-one is saying that there are not ways to get around the problem - if you happen to be near to the car. Yes, unlocking always works; No, refreshing the status has never worked (for me); and, using the car is not what is being discussed - of course it works when being used. It is when the car is not being used that creates the issue. None of these suggestions has any impact on the inability to access the car via iSmart when you are located nowhere near to the car (returning to an airport from holiday etc., etc.) ... 'Find my Car'; Check status; Turn on battery heating/HVAC; etc., etc. It quite simply doesn't work as it boasts.

I have also tried clearing cache (although I had no such issue logging in etc.), and I have the latest (according to Google and MG iSmart) v. 2.0.7. Has made no difference whatsoever. The app needs a fundamental re-design to a far more sophisticated set of parameters to work as intended and as advertised.

Correction, no the UI difference is only in the dark theme, re installation reverted to light theme, back in dark all is same.
Version is 2.0.7
We can submit feedback to MG from the settngs menu, I did

On android go into settings, apps, see all apps, scroll down to MG iSmart and select it, select Storage and cache, clear storage (not just the cache). You will have to sign in again using your original login details.

Do you get some display, but no connection, or nothing at all?
I do get a display but it won't do bugger all.

It thinks I'm in Belgium, which I was in April last year, but in the MoHo not the car

Oh heck, the app has found me or should I say it has found where my phone is, so completely crap for finding the car.

Vehicle status is blank.

I think I shall do what I do with most of this cars software, ignore it.

Incidentally the job the car went in for, which was a small piece of trim on the nearside below the screen had broken and it was supposed to be replaced, it wasn't, the app was supposed to be looked at and fixed at that time which they said it was isn't.

Went through everything this morning including sitting the damn car to start then locking again. Still wouldn't allow any remote actions. Ensure it's in P or Timeout messages despite it obviously being in P and the indicators flash when sending the commands. Total dog$hit.

The server is in Belgium. I think the office cleaner sometimes unplugs it to vacuum.

I don't think you are far wrong. I've never had any real problems connecting but for the last 20 hours the app times out. It's going to be an exercise in patience waiting for MG to rectify the problem...again.

I’m getting the same issue. Unlocking and locking the car didn’t help. Had to sit in it and watch it clear the screen, which took about 6 minutes with temp -4°C.

hopefully they'll fix it soon - you'd hope :ROFLMAO: they have systems that alert them to servers down, where's the resilience?? I could connect around 7pm last night, but not since 10pm.

When I went out to the pub last night (about 8pm) I used the app to unlock the car so I could unplug it after charging. No connection just now though.

I had the no connection problem this morning, after a short drive tried again, OK.
This afternoon car has be parked at a friends house, again no connection.
However, something I have noticed the resting 12v battery is at 12.2v, 13.9v when car is in ready state and the traction battery is therefore charging the 12 volt.
Car is now just over two years old, could be nearing the end of life for a lead acid battery perhaps?
No, scrub that, just tried again with 12.2v in the twelve volt and everything is working.
Just hope it does tomorrow morning.

Could be 12v battery dropping under 12v i have a hardwired dash cam that stays on for security and ismart app will not connect if that happens..also with cold weather doesn't help battery either..
