Following a thousand mile round trip from pointy end of Cornwall to the Lake District ( UK) and back again over the last week, I have to reiterate ( with no sweary bits this time) this is a truly amazing car. Not a single hiccup ( bar weird infotainment recycling itself for 2 hours /50 miles with no obvious solution, just resolved itself) and so, so enoyable to drive.
Absolutely love it, favourite car ever!!.
Coupled with Tesla charging ??

Did the same trip in reverse a few weeks back. Agree about the Tesla charging but not about the MG: DC charging yes but wouldn't charge AC thereafter. Got the car back 35 days later with a new CCU.

I didn't try any AC charging whilst away- got it on for tonight though. Never had problems before switching between the two so ?
Best bit about the Tesla charging was using the Tesla service center in Exeter. Not only did they let me charge at the first station ( i.e. anyone passing by or indeed coming on site saw a shexy red MG4 first ??) but they very kindly let me use their loo without having to sign any declaration or promise to buy a Tesla next time, even though I offered!! Excellent customer service.

Really happy to hear that the Tesla superchargers work with the MG4 (both the Trophy and SE), as reading on ZapMap some comments people are seeing an error saying that their car is not supported when connecting. Happy to hear that shouldn't be the case (expect to be heading to Devon shortly from Bedford, and want to stop to charge using the Tesla charger!).

It is a god send ?.
Possibly John Lewis @ The Mall, the causeway, Bristol and then Exeter Tesla service centre ( not Exeter services. They're not open to non-tesla yet ) ? .
2 or 3 things.
1. Always worth trying out local to yourself first to get a feel for it.
2.Load app and familiarise yourself with it. Work out the break even point for membership subscription for a month. Costs at each charge centre are in the app, along with times.
3. I think in the manual it recommends locking the car to power off, then unlocking, opening charge flap, connecting and charging ( I might be wrong, there was a lot to read on day 1.). I found the Tesla chargers hung up if I tried this and although they would eventually connect they wouldn't actually start charging. I think this is because the car would go through its loading procedure and the Tesla charger'd get bored and bog off for a cuppa.
Just drive in, park up, hand brake on and without closing the car down any further nip round to charge flap, pop it open and follow app instructions to get it going.
And most importantly - enjoy ?

I plan to! Thanks ?

On a rapid charger, it helps if you shut down the car first. No locking of doors necessary as such, just power off from the infotainment menu.

There is a pull down menu when you swipe from top to bottom. In there you have option to power off the car

Yes I do but I've not had cause to demand an update and I understand later versions have a few issues. But it is good to know that MG has realised the need to simplify important switching on/off methods eg as with LKA.

I believe the Tesla chargers at Exeter services may be open to all, but only via that app as there are no V4 chargers yet... I tried them the other day, but didn't have the app and couldn't download it (me being stupid...again!). I will try again soon, though now that I have the app, and it definitely shows as available... Good luck :)

Hhmmm, will be interested to hear the result.
Still not showing as available on my Tesla phone app.
Definitely got the ones at the Tesla service centre just up the road from the M5 services, which are the ones I used and then the other side of the M5 at Darts Farm, which I used during May bank holiday/ half term - never again during holiday period opening hours.

I've used Tesla chargers three times and never had any trouble. I'm planning to use the ones at Solihull again tomorrow, and that's beside a big Tesla showroom. I think I had my fill of looking at smart Teslas last time, and someone did say something about coffee so I might try to find out if that's for real. They did have bowls of freebie boiled sweets on the tables though, and comfy chairs to sit on while waiting.

I still feel a bit like a cat in a dog suit at Tesla superchargers though.

Hi I use Tesla all the time if I can I don't think anyone cares anymore

Oh, I may have confused it with the service center, then.
Reasonable mistake to make. Not only are they very close on the maps but someone has posted a pic of the M5 services on the Tesla service centre site on Zapmap which confuses the issue even more ?
