I've done a search, but can't find anything on the forum about this, but it must be mentioned somewhere.

When @Rolfe was here a few days back, we discussed the annoying thing that the interior lights don't come on when you open the door. You seem to have to switch them on manually. @Rolfe thought there was a setting for this, but couldn't recall what it was. I've looked through the menus (R33) and can't find anything at all.

Is this possible, and if so, what incantation needs to be used to get it to work?

Many thanks

Courtesy lights in mine come on when I open the door ... it's a physical switch up a-height - the centre one between 2x individual switches.
Oh good grief, as simple as that.

Thanks so much.

Like site guru says, the interior lights do come on by automation, but they don't stay on for long
Thanks. My centre button, between the two individual light buttons, definitely needed a tap, and stayed in.
Half expected, in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy style, to see a message on the screen "Do not press this button again"

I'm so sorry, you mentioned this to me when we met, and I meant to get back to you once I'd confirmed how it works. I knew it did, I'd just forgotten the precise procedure at that particular moment. I was fiddling with it myself, as it seemed to me that pressing the centre button should bring both lights on when I'm in the car - but of course it doesn't, I need to turn on each one individually. The centre button simply controls whether or not the lights come on when the door is opened.
