Do you guys paying regularly to use the app?
Not in New Zealand, and it's not even been mentioned by the dealer (as yet)Do you guys paying regularly to use the app?
Free in AustraliaDo you guys paying regularly to use the app?
I'm in the UK and have had my car for more than 2 years now ... the iSmart app is still working for me without any subscription.I had heard it's only free for the first two years and then it's subscription.
Sounds like you now have the same app as here - all those behaviours are are normal for me. Not much comfort to you i know, but up until a couple of months ago it was much worse as every few days it would get an error what ever you did, and the only solution was to go to the car and put it in to ready mode then lock it up againThe new app is worse than the old one for actually showing the current range and battery status. The old app always showed the correct status. Now the main start screen shows nothing unless you refresh it with a swipe down. This sometimes activates bluetooth & the keyless start tab changes to blue but there is no range or battery data. A vehicle status check sometimes then brings up the battery & range data, sometimes not. Other times it just says "The service is not available, try again later." The same goes for tapping in to the charging screen. Changing charging scheduled times works but sometimes it comes up with start & finish time of 30 hours & 62 minutes & fails to communicate with the car.
I don't like the new graphics or colour change to white and the animations are worse as well. The only thing better is the ability to change things using biometrics.
I have followed the advice of other users, deleted the cache etc but it is no better.
In a nutshell the new app is rubbish.
I’ve read before (and experienced it myself once) that whenever the car sits for more than a couple of days, it stops responding to the app, and seems to go into some sort of deep sleep state until you put it in ready mode. Quite unhelpful function for those who would like to check the car when away from home on holidays or something like thatSounds like you now have the same app as here - all those behaviours are are normal for me. It wasn't as simple as that unfortunately, much more random. It could be fine for a week even if not driven, or do it within an hour of being driven. It even did it while car was in use (by someone else) for about 30 minutes.I’ve read before (and experienced it myself once) that whenever the car sits for more than a couple of days, it stops responding to the app, and seems to go into some sort of deep sleep state until you put it in ready mode. And now connect other MG registered drivers to the car using the app on their phones! Also the odometer figure is shown in Vehicle Management. Great leap forward. There’s a new update, so we can finally enjoy a dark theme like the rest of the world![]()
