Ismart app not working? Advice?

Hi all, when we got the mg4 and I installed the ismart app, it paired (whilst sat inside the car) but had never once been able to connect to the car since. I don't really care that much but wondered if I'm missing something? Do I need to connect it manually again or something?

Have you accepted the terms and conditions for ismart within the car main screen (think its the icon below the car binding icon) there is a Privacy tab at the bottom of Settings, tick both options to accept.
Has anyone had any luck finding a solution to this? I could bind and connect to my car for 2 weeks after purchase and then nothing. The dealer has no idea, and MG are no help at all (which is surprising as they are normally really good)

I have tried using the email tab with the same details i used to register on the App but it is not accepted and always shows as failed. Privacy is enabled as well. All of MGs advice has been used but still cant connect. Any ideas would be welcome.

On the main home screen swipe left, tap user, under the account tab in the top right corner there is a small connect vehicle. Tap that and it should bring up two QR codes. One to download the iSmart app and under that a connect vehicle one.

If there is someone else's name in the account tab you will have to contact MG to remove them from the car's account.

Thanks, I assume you mean the home screen on the car? I shall try that. I have already downloaded the app on the phone and set up the account on the phone. No other user before me.

To confirm for anyone else with this problem, there is a Privacy tab at the bottom of Settings and both of the options there were off. I turned them both to on and the app immediately connected

Yes, done that too. Just tried to find the icon on top right of screen as previous chap suggested but its not there. MG have asked me to check stuff like privacy etc everything is on but there is nothing happening. Cant log in manually or get a QR presenting itself. They said the software could have an issue and I have contacted the lesser who have contacted the dealer. It really should not be this hard its pathetic really.

I picked up my Trophy on Monday and could not bind the car on the ismart app but I have found the resolution. I think the process is slightly different on the trophy compared to the SE.
Once you have scanned the first large bar code your details should upload to the car following this when you try to bind a screen appears that has a 3 step process to bind. At this point a smaller QR code appears next to step one and nothing appears next to step 3 along with an error message.
To bind the car you have to go into the display settings on the infotainment and change the display from auto to light mode.
If you try the process again the small qr code will appear as if by magic next to step 3 and you can bind the car. You can then set the display back to auto as normal.
I know this sounds weird but it worked for me and I had been doing factory resets and everything else I could think of.
The resolution was provided by my local dealer.
Have you tried this? From the thread 'iSmart cannot bind to app' ; a merged thread where lots of people reported problems and offered solutions.

In that case then your car is probably on a previous software version. Have you watched Jerry Pan's video on how to do it?

The “connect” button will not show if the vehicle is already connected/bind to an account (e.g. a previous owner or has a salesman demonstrated it to someone else).Then the car needs to be unbind by the previous owner or by MG

 
well, i took the car to the MG dealership today and the guy there thinks it needs a software upgrade. and guess when the earliest date is they an get it in? 3rd March 2025! I am stunned. I spoke to MG customer service and they will speak to the dealer to try and bring this forward. I am so unimpressed with this. A brand new car 2 weeks on and it has an issue. Ah well at least West Ham won on Monday.
 
I-Smart update. Having tried everything previously. Earlier this week I tried again and the QR code magically presented itself out of the blue and I was able to scan it and login. Having been in touch with MG I am not sure if they were able to reset it remotely but either way its now working. Thanks for all the advice everyone.
