...Just ordered an MG4 Trophy ER (my first EV) any advice most welcome...

With a 77 kW battery, six hours isn't enough. An Ohme/Octopus Intelligent Go dynamic schedule can start before 11.30pm and finish after 10am and still be charged at 7 ppkW. It's not a true TOU tariff. That only applies to the rest of the house.
He is only saying he does 20 miles a day just keep it topped off to 80% and charge above 30/40 now and again let it run down but for the mileage in op no reason not too.

Tomato also has 4 hours at 13.37 from 10pm and 12. And 9:30-11:30am for those needing the 8 hours.

The price for those 4 hours is higher than the cheaper night rate.

If anyone's interested, at the moment Tomato Lifestyle rates if you have an EV are:

Day rate 23.2628p/kWh

00:00 - 06:00 5.004p/kWh

09:30 - 11:30 and 22:00 - 00:00 14.0427p/kWh

Standing charge 42.8563p/day

They may even add you into June tariff like they did me.

4 hours 13.37p
6 hours 5p

As an example, my last 100% equalisation charge started at 7pm on 26 September and ended at 10am on 27 September. The Ohme picked the slots and the total "off-peak" use was 81kWh.

Is it not better to Max Charge on Ohme for equalisation/balancing as the charge slots mean balancing could be prematurely ended (I don't believe it restarts but correct me if I am wrong).

Thanks again for all the replies. ...sadly no updates as yet- OVO haven't responded to the survey (fair enough, it's only been 4 days) and I haven't heard from the dealer as to when the car will be available to collect (that's only been 5 days and they said 2-3 weeks, it's just impatience setting in). Am picking up more by the day though, which is great. I think half of the problem is I like to know and understand things, and having home serviced our cars for the last 25+ years, I want to be on top of things in time for getting the MG4.
Thanks once again for the replies :=)

Hi ,newbie here as well. Still waiting for my Trophy to be delivered. Got my Hive EO charger from BG, on offer for £639 . BG not doing installs at moment so had to use an approved installer to get the one year free electricity. Happy days. The installer i used charged over £100 less than BG charge. This worked out to just over £1100 for both charger and install.
Great forum and members, learning lots of useful info. Thanks guys

Apart from all the debate about home chargers/tariffs, the other key tip is make sure the car is delivered to you with version R59 (or later); that is what makes the car best meet expectations

That is interesting, really useful advice- I will check that when the dealer calls me to advise the car is available to collect. Many thanks!

Well I've had results back from the wall box survey (OVO) and have gone with the Ohme Pro charger- due to be fitted in a weeks time. Also sold my 7 year old C Class today (been a great car incidentally) so I'm getting nearer... just need the dealer to phone me and tell me they have received my MG4, as I now have no car! -good job I'm a cyclist and have a train station not too far away.
