Lane Keep Assist love.....

FWIW since the latest updates to my SE SR the follow distance remembers the last setting; so if I set it to 2 bars then it remains at 2 bars next time I get in the car.

If the lines are clearly marked then it may work OK, but it's actually dangerous on rural or less well marked roads.
Agreed.

My biggest bug bear atm is in Oxfordshire most town roads have been changed to 20mph. So you want to use cruise control but it automatically switches on all the safety features. So incredibly dangerous. Braking constantly, slamming on your brakes. Same whenever cruise control is set. Turns on all the features I hate like LKA. Is there no fix for this yet. ???!!!

Set acc distance to lowest, set to acc only so leave tja allone. Then set lane assist to alert at lowest sensitivity.

That’s the only thing that’s not been a problem (when it decides to work) is the LKA ?‍♀️

Switching on the safety features is incredibly dangerous?

That LKA, arguably yes.

I always turn off LKA. I regularly use the ACC to keep to 20 mph going through nearby villages, and this never causes the LKA to come back on. I have an SE. Is this maybe a Trophy thing?

It's probably a Trophy thing to not be concerned by LKA - I never turn off LKA (I think it's still on default, is that High, or something?), and it gives me just the occasional twitch, absolutely not dangerous at all!

But I do wonder why drivers would want to disconnect with the car by turning on ACC for normal off-motorway driving - each to their own, I guess...

As I've posted elsewhere, I'm running a test where I'm leaving LKA On and have the sensitivity set to High. (On the premise that High might make the system see the lines better and so be less reactive/lower steering force interruption). I've only had one fairly short run in this mode and it seemed better - more testing needed though.

Not with mine. In fact, I sometimes get the impression it doesn't activate at 65kmh at the beginning of a trip.
Slamming on brakes is more like acc/tja with high regen(3). Or the other safety system preventing front end collisions.

I've only had the brakes slam on once, when a pedestrian walked out between two parked cars and seemed possibly to be about to cross the road right in front of me. (He was actually moving to get into one of the parked cars, but I forgave my car for not realising that.) I didn't have anything on at the time - no LKA or ACC or TJA.

When I had taken a moment to assess the situation, that was my conclusion. I don't turn it off, because it isn't bothering me at all, and it just might save someone serious injury.

I also think it might have activated a second time, but I was actually braking myself anyway (coming up behind another car held up by lights at road works) and I didn't think I pressed the brake that hard. Maybe the AEB got to it first?

If your brakes slam on without logical explanation and your disabled daughter has a melt down each time - yes. Sarcasm - not necessary. I just wanted to know if others were experiencing it. Enough of this forum for me.

Is your cruise control set to ACC or TJA? Mine is set to ACC and I've never noticed LKA resetting to on after activating ACC. Whereas TJA uses LKA. If you have problems with Front Collision Alert then reduce the sensitivity, I did that and I've not had a problem since.

EDIT. If you are going less that 34mph then LKA is off. I think you are seeing FCA. Perhaps it does if using TJA.

ACC also uses the brakes for front collision assist ... that's the only time I've had my brakes applied for little to no reason, when I've been in a Town setting with ACC set to 30 mph and passing parked vehicles can confuse the system so it applies the brakes.

Is this happening frequently? Because if it is, I think something needs recalibrating. Over 6,000 miles and it's never happened to me without logical explanation.

I've noticed when using TJA or ACC in traffic, it sometimes brakes gently when stopping, and sometimes it slams on the brakes really hard. As for LKA I always turn it off because it has tourettes, and I've noticed it turns itself on completely at random. At first I thought it was only when I'd put the car in park, but no, it'll turn itself on any time it feels like it.

That's a bit weird. @Joanne the Hairdresser said the same thing, but pretty much everyone else with an SE says it stays off once you've turned it off. (Trophys can be a bit different.) Are you sure it's properly off when you drive off? Foot on brake while you're turning it off, and tap the confirmation screen? Amber logo in top left of driver's screen?
