I've had my car nearly a month, I have driven 1200 miles and I love it.
I've been charging at home and paying 7p a kWh now that I have learnt to switch to the EV smart charge tariff, which is good ?.
I had a practice tonight at charging from a public charger and using the App connected to my account with Octopus.
I did not know what expect and only wanted to put a few kWh in to prove I could do it.
A failed first attempt because I forgot to shut the car off and the charger / payment App was just scrolling, waiting and waiting.
Eventually the charger gave up and shut down, telling me to reconnect and try again.
My App told me to shut the car down.

So I followed the instructions and BINGO it started, ?yay....

I put 10mins of charge in to prove I could do it. £4.60 cost but more importantly it proved I can do it and it is another hurdle completed.

The learning continues.

Had mine for 2 years now and don't worry about charging while away from home. If I'm going on a long journey (just got back from a week in the New Forrest 850mls) just start with 100% and stop when you need a break or reach 40%, then have a coffee etc while charging. I never go hunting for the cheapest chargers, your on holiday so take the hit, you'll save time in the long run. I've had quite a few failures when charging but usually the next one worked OK.

I only ever charge away from home and there are plenty of fast chargers, even here in deepest darkest West Wales.
I was just planning a trip to Germany and looking at the Tesla app, reassures me that it will be very straightforward with plenty of chargers on my route.
