I think it may be that the pressures overnight might be falling just a little under the minimum. By morning, the temperature is up a bit, so is the pressure, but until you derive a few miles, the TPMS doesn't register the increase. So a little more pressure (say to 38 psi) should solve the problem.

Or reset the TPMS first thing in the morning when the tyres are cold and at their lowest pressures.
You might be able to do that on your Toyota Corolla but it's not an option on the MG4.

Is anyone else having TMPS faults now it’s freezing cold. It’s happening on my 2 rear tyres but come afternoon there’s no issue. Only taken delivery of the car just over a month ago?
Like a lot of us I put 39 psi in my tyres during the warmer weather in the Autumn. I also checked them using an accurate pressure gauge as the ones at petrol stations are not checked for accuracy.

I have only just bought my MG4 so I'm a bit new to this but I've just had the yellow warning triangle appear on my dash. The "low tyre pressure" light had also appeared and when I've checked the Message Centre it only shows the low tyre pressures and no other alerts.
Is this why the yellow warning triangle has popped up, or would it be a different fault?
Every other car I've had, only shows the "low tyre pressure" light, not a warning light as well.

Yes.

Check and adjust the pressure according to the sticker on your door pillar. (Ideally when cold)
Go for a short drive to reset the values.

If light comes back on you might have a slow puncture.

Merged. Have a read of the above thread.

I had my second warning of the season on Tuesday. The first was on 20th August, after which I pumped them all up to about 2.7 bar and all was well. But here we go again. All the tyres showing lower than I had them, cold weather of course.

I pumped them all up to what looked like just over 2.7 bar on my pump, but when I started to drive the car they were all showing 2.6 bar. That went up to 2.7 bar after a bit, and 2.8 bar before the end of the trip. Anyway, it's shut the warnings off. For now.

I was always pretty lackadaisical about tyre pressures. Just left it to the garage at servicing and MOTs. Or with the Golf, with its single warning light telling you neither which tyre nor how low, got the garage to check it when it bonged. The MG4 sure has ways of making you pay attention and keep those tyres the way it wants them.

Well well. That was early October. Yesterday, last day in January, I checked the pressures during a long drive and three tyres were at 2.9 bar with the third at 2.8 bar. No idea why they haven't dropped at all in nearly four months.

It's possible I did them again after another round of pinging and put them to 2.8 bar, but even so, that would have been no later than November.

I just scanned the car, which has been in the garage all night. Both front tyres reading 2.5, both rears reading 2.8. I don't understand any of this!

Delta T.

I think the TPMS sends data when the wheels are turning so even if the car's been sat in the garage overnight the last pressure measured would be when the car was being driven.

What Ian says seems to be confirmed when looking at the values in the app. They are stable all night. And they are the same as in the car (just checked). I drove my car yesterday late afternoon after standing in the sun all afternoon. So what I see is the latest value while driving, I guess.

So Rolfe, did you see these front pressures shortly before you parked the car in the garage? And did you see the low values in the car, or in the app?

The system is very influenced by temperature on very cold days mine go out of balance according to the app but are fine as they warm up. I keep them at the max pressure during winter and ignore them during summer.
