In the last week MG Australia has announced the 2025 MG3 Hybrid models will receive a structural and software upgrade, to enable an improved NCAP test score. Details are not provided but it was revealed previously that the major item preventing a 4 Star rating was a centre airbag ( designed to prevent head clash during side impact testing). The obvious solution might be to install air bags in the centre sides of the front seats. There are already airbags in the outer sides of the front seats to protect in side impacts.
Not sure what further software enhancements are being considered, as it's fairly comprehensive already, meeting all the Australian Design Rules. More to come when details are available. No mention of drivetrain software changes.

"An updated MG3 featuring “software and structural” changes is also in the fray to try and improve the light hatch’s sub-par three-star ANCAP safety rating."
