Be aware that sometimes when it fails it's not obvious and old values are left displayed. If in doubt check the last update time at the top of the main page. I think this time is also updated when other pages update successfully.

Hi all,

I've had real problems with the app this week after a period of relative stability (actually being able to connect and control HVAC). Has anyone else experienced problems and are there any cast iron ways to get a connection each time it is required?

I have been okay with it generally this morning and earlier in week, using the remote HVAC in the mornings. But get the typical problems with it not always connecting and having to refresh (drag down) on the app a couple times) for it to connect. Don't think its ever been 100% stable, but no worse than normal.

I've found the most reliable way to "wake up" the app is to tap "Vehicle Status" (the shield icon in dark mode)
If it scans the car successfully, then the car and app are both awake enough to chat.

Yesterday the app refused to scan even after locking/unlocking. This morning, again, no response to a scan even after locking/unlocking. Went back to the MG page and reloaded that and the app sprung to life. A scan revealed a battery voltage of 12v, usually 12.3v so put on the heat. Went up to 12.4v. I blame the cold mornings and not using the car.

So, it's a case of 'if at first you don't succeed' try every other button.
