- I never ‘unbound’ it

- When I press ‘Bind’ I am taken to the Login screen which still repeatedly fails with the response:

illegal AppSendData

Is there a support number within MG I can ring to see if the server that my account should be on needs switching off/on??

Other people had the same illegal AppSendData notice, check previous posts on the forum, can't remember what the solution was (if any, apart from wait until it works again...)
 
I’ve deleted the app and reloaded current version from the app store; All to no avail.

but, don't expect any solution over the phone. likely to be told to visit a dealer. maybe ask to reset your account (or delete) and unbound your car so that you can start from scratch?
 
Does the i smart app work on the MGZS Trophy long range? If it does what functions are unavailable when compared to the MGZS Trophy connect.

Yes, the iSmart app works with the Trophy long range, and as far as I am aware there is no difference in function with the connect version.
 
If you use the qr code in the registration, that will download the correct ismart version it will show a white zs ev in the app following this.
 
This morning the ismart app is asking to bind my ZS SR 2022 and is looking for a QR code. Where will I find it?

I can't get passed the scanner screen and looking at the settings page, it shows that I am logged in.

I don't know if this is happening because the car had a service done yesterday or because the ISmart app has updated to a newer version.

Nothing to do with the car, its very likely that you are logging in with your e-mail instead of phone number... or other way round

I haven't been asked to log in, as I am already logged in but I cannot get passed the scanner, looking for a QR code.

Nevermind, I have now succeeded binding the car thanks to a YouTube video.
 
Hi all,

I’ve picked up my 2023 LR ZS Trophy today and I’m struggling with the app.

I’ve downloaded and registered, got the QR code up, logged in and it says successful but then I just get this screen on the app.

Sorry if this has been asked a million times but does anyone have any ideas how I fix this?

When I got my second hand 2022, I couldn't bind. I thought previous owner was still bound to the car and had to email MG customer centre to ask them to "un-bind" . They confirmed there was no previous connection. Every now and then I would try connecting but no luck ... After a month or so, I tried again and it just happened...

so, check with MG customer services (they will need VIN number) and then try once a week until it happens ...

what exactly happened to you? managed to bind but then it says what? just shows the second screenshot? might help taking screenshots at each step and sharing here ...

So it’s as if the car is saying yes it’s bound but the app doesn’t think it is.

At least you are almost there! Mine was refusing to bind for a month or longer and there is another owner on the forum with the car refusing to connect ...

I don't remember seeing the first screen on my car at all, from memory, it just said bound without any of that info ... and the top right - "switch account" ??? I thought only one account can be bound to the car ... just went to see my screen in the car and I can't even find the one in your first photo

If the car is connected to the account and the phone can't find the car as connected, seems it's something to do with login details on your phone app... you have your password and login details? try logging off and on again and see what that "switch account" button says when you press it. as a last resort, unbind the car and start again ...
(about different screen/software - your car might be "connect" version, mine is not)

there is an email [email protected] and also customer services email for MG to ask for assistance if needed...

You need to get to the screen that has 3 steps you then need to scan the qr code at step 3 if I remember correctly where it says switch account press that it will the give you 3 things to do on your app it the icon top right and scan the QR code at the step 3 that worked for me

Thanks both. I’ve been in contact with MG and it’s currently still bound to the previous owner. I only picked it up yesterday so just got to wait for the V5 to come through so they can unbind and then I can start again.

Opened the MG Ismart app yesterday, to be greeted with a request to :- “Log in to your account” banner .
This usually means that a change has taken place, regarding the App software.
So, I sign in using my usual details, but received the normal “Sorry Check back again later” message.
Left it for about 24 hours and yes it’s back on-line !.
All fine all appears okay ?.
I then decided to just run a routine health check on the car.
It is now reporting 10 items are all working just fine on our ZS EV Gen2.
I am sure there was 11 items checked when I used it last ????????.
What has been removed, I hear you say ?.
The sky roof status is the answer !.
It has been removed from the reporting page now.
Is this because the later models do not have the sky roof option for U.K. cars I wonder ??.
Another item removed from the list now, following along the same path as the side window reporting status.
Once there, now gone !.
Anybody else spotted this ????.

What version is your app now? I still have the sunroof showing in mine, Version 2.0.5
