MG ZS EV LR Affinity price?

Any news on the MG ZS EV LR affinity prices and if they are being brought in for this quarter?

MG UK have a dealer meeting end of next week. Miles Roberts has already said somewhere that Affinity is unlikely as they can sell every car of the new model without incentives.

I have also heard the same thing via the Monday night pod cast.
It will be interesting to hear ? what ( if anything ) will be done regarding addressing the price structure changes now, after the impact of the reduction in the plug in grant on the Trophy models.
Personally, I don’t think they have much room for manoeuvre here, unless they reduce the SE model by a similar % then I can’t see anybody going for the SE model then ?.
I think the big discounts that we have seen on the first gen model are a thing of the past.
MG have always brought cars to the market at a reasonable price, it’s almost been their mantra for donkeys years !.
But now the face lift ZS EV price increase on the Trophy models has brought it closer to its competitors.
Interesting to see what happens in the next few weeks.

Maybe they can this year, or at least the first half of this year, but when other manufacturers start bringing out sub £30k EVs I think they will struggle, as more buyers go for more familiar brands.
I'm waiting to see the price of the new, smaller Toyotas that are emerging this year before I decide whether to stick with MG and the new ZS.
Although I hate my local Vauxhall dealers, the top of the range Mokka looks tempting at the moment.

Once the others do 250 miles then I think MG will have real competition. Most of the French/Stellantis cars seem to do 160 - 180 miles.like the Gen1 ZS EV. Will the new Ora Cat or BYD cars rock the boat?

Does the company you work for have to be part of the affinity scheme? My company does salary sacrifice but I found no reference to affinity.

My understanding it's only for NHS / police/ fire etc, may extend to other public service jobs

No, you just have to be in or retired from a public service role. Some small businesses are also included.

Here are the Affinity prices (inclusive of the govt grant where applicable i:e SE only).

Trophy £29,771.98

I would probably buy the ZS Trophy if it included the grant. The difference in price between the SE and trophy is too large and i don't want the SE

I don't think it's unreasonable though. A sunroof is typically a £1000 option as is upgrading cloth seat trims, so all things considered then it's not an outrageous difference.

Yes but if the only option was the SE I can't see many adding a sunroof or fake leather seats on as an extra for £1k, well I wouldn't

When I was first considered moving to the original ZS EV - I looked at both the Excite and Exclusive models.
I sat down and made a comparison list of features on both models.
Then I went down the list of the extra features that the Exclusive had over the Excite.
I then started adding a reasonable money value to each extra feature ( e.g. - sun roof - £1,000 etc etc ).
I hit the price difference between each model, before getting half way down the list !.
That made the choice of model a little easier.

Well what about the BSD, LCA, RCTA, heated door mirrors, roof rails, odour and pollutant filters, rain sensing wipers, 6 speakers with 3D sound, electric and heated seats as well? Couldn't tempt you?
