I made my thoughts ? known on a previous thread, a few months ago, before it got this crazy and Miles gave my comment a “Like”.
Which indicated to me that my thoughts carried some credit / fact in my theory.
It’s just common business sense really, look after your owe side of the fence first.
A sale is a sale, when cars are plentiful.
Great when you get a large order from a lease company, but a lease company will want these cars at discount price naturally.
Satisfying your retail customers will take priority I am sure.

the '4' with heatpump is ~£10K more than the ZS Trophy... The Kia is nicer but not 10K nicer IMO (Trophy LR available for £31,000)

Welcome!

There are people that ordered their ZS EV in November/December '21, that are now being told September for delivery. With that in mind the 52 weeks you've been quoted seems to be at the more realistic end of the spectrum. At least that way you're not being led on, and there's hope it could be sooner.

SAIC bought 2 ships that should come online soon, if not already (not heard any confirmation yet). I may be wrong, but it's the only way I see them catching up on transporting the backlog of orders even if they had all the components needed.

They were advertising it, although appears to be gone now (would call them though, it wasn't obvious before) - is only applicable for cash purchases, not for any finance offers.

My local dealer refused to match it, then phoned up 24hours later to say they would match it... but I'd already placed an order with the above - this was only on the 1st May so not long ago.

My total was £31040.01, including black paint which was extra, so actually slightly under 31K if you went with the free option (white?)

I have posted but it's waiting moderation approval due to the link I suppose. Google Nathaniel Cardiff - unsure if offer is still on-going, but I only ordered on the 1st May and it was 31K inc. black paint

Mine was through Tusker too. Ordered Jan and the date has shifted from May, August now September.

MG dealerships where told a few weeks ago, to cancel any ghost orders for cars that had been placed on order, but with NO real customers names behind them.
Otherwise they faced a £1,500 fine for each car ordered in this fashion.
These cars where ordered very soon after the release date of the ZS facelift model.

I would a little cautious over promises made by leasing companies to be honest.
With the huge shortage found with MG dealerships at the moment, who is likely to get grabs on a car ?.
A MG dealer customer order, or an order raised directly through a lease company, do you think ?.
They will look after their own customer base first I think.

I think that is a more genuine and realistic time frame, to be honest.
Instead of giving false information about lead times, which creates frustration and anger when their cars do not arrive on time.
We are in strange and dangerous times right now.
If you had told a customer that he would have to wait 12 months for a new car, two years ago, they would have walked straight out of the showroom.
Some cars have almost two year lead times !.
Who the hell order’s a new car, two years before they need it ?.
The situation is almost the “Perfect Storm”.

was the dealer supportive, was the push backs from mg or just lack of info from dealer, along with mg? how the experience so far been with kia against the said mg dealer?

Not had a reply from the dealer yet but that's not unusual never used to get many updates at all unless I contacted them.
The Kia I am getting is not new it's a 21 plate so no issues at all

Just got a call to say mine is arriving today and i can pick up before end of the month,
LR Trophy in WHite - Ordered start December

For anyone interested id put a reserve down for a second hand LR Trophy in Blue, but will be cancelling this request now. I have put link below just be aware its not done 100 miles as stated its an ex demo (also not in the ad) and done over 4K miles. So it show as available as soon as they come back to me.

Just had a call from my dealer asking if I would take a different coloured same spec car if one comes in as they are starting to receive cars. I only ordered on April the 1st so cannot complain about their service. Informed him I would take a Battersea Blue rather than the Pearl Black ordered if one arrives first.

About to order a Trophy through Tusker who offer lease vehicles through my work, they are quoting a 52 week lead time....I am hoping they are erring on the side of caution here

What model/colour - I've ordered a Red LR trophy connect, and Tusker say 40 weeks for that

It's in literally nobody's best interests to have cars not in the hands of customers.

It's the same across the automotive spectrum.

Not strictly true, Russia invaded intially in 2014 and never left.
