One of my concerns with a EV was range.
My last Diesel would easily do 800 miles to a tank occasionally 900 miles and on one or two occasions when the conditions were favourable 1000 miles to a tank of fuel.
A tank of 70ltrs easily cost over £100 and has been as much as £130 to fill when fuels were expensive.

So my EV with a maximum of say 300 miles was a big drop, but I bit the bullet and got my car in the summer. I have done more than 6000 miles since then and driven many long distances during that period.

Last weekend finally clinched it, I had to stop and charge regularly, more so than the diesel but we did that while eating.
I had a failure at a Tesla charger but I was experimenting with it and allowed for the failure, also another story 😁.

We drove from South Yorkshire to Northumberland, back and forth to Beamish and Hadrians wall, then all the way to Edinburgh and then back to Northumberland before coming home.
Nearly 900 miles using mostly DC fast chargers except for Edinburgh where I deliberately used a slow charger because we had hours in Edinburgh and it was cheaper to use (park and ride on the tram)

Same price as a tank of Diesel for a similar distance.

So I can honestly say I am fully committed to the EV lifestyle and could not see a reason to go back to a ICE car.

Regards
Rob

yes, I have seen people grumble about EV range comparing it to their diesels, etc but never remember to mention they have to stop every 2-3 hours anyway - be it for lunch, toilets, petrol station ... as if they sit in the car and drive 800 miles without stopping ...

Just done a return trip back to the UK from my home in France. Almost 3000km in 8 days and it was plain sailing. No charging issues (except the cost in the UK ! ), super comfortable drive etc. 300km inbetween stops which is more than enough without a break. I likewise would never entertain an ICE car again.

Yep, I'm in the same boat as you guys. I have a SR model (couldn't get a LR for love or money back in 2022) and had to travel up from Swansea to Lancashire to pick this one up.
Just got back from a trip to London - stopped twice (both ways) to charge, used Tesla chargers. Would have had to stop anyway to wee the doggy and the family, have coffee etc.
Had to drop her into Eco for the last 20 miles home last night as it was late but no problem at all.
This car has been faultless for the 2½ years we've had her, 48,000 miles.
Would never entertain an ICE again.

We're doing better than almost all major EU countries (40.4%) apart from Germany (56%). France/Belgium are around 23%. 💪🏻
List here
I totally agree. We are getting there.... slowly. Mainly because of the national grid infrastructure taking time to update.
Even a stormy windy day like today shows approx 55 to 65% generated by uk wind.

(Excellent National grid site)

I was eluding to the continued use of gas, biomass & interconnection from Europe.
