One of my concerns with a EV was range.
My last Diesel would easily do 800 miles to a tank occasionally 900 miles and on one or two occasions when the conditions were favourable 1000 miles to a tank of fuel.
A tank of 70ltrs easily cost over £100 and has been as much as £130 to fill when fuels were expensive.
So my EV with a maximum of say 300 miles was a big drop, but I bit the bullet and got my car in the summer. I have done more than 6000 miles since then and driven many long distances during that period.
Last weekend finally clinched it, I had to stop and charge regularly, more so than the diesel but we did that while eating.
I had a failure at a Tesla charger but I was experimenting with it and allowed for the failure, also another story
.
We drove from South Yorkshire to Northumberland, back and forth to Beamish and Hadrians wall, then all the way to Edinburgh and then back to Northumberland before coming home.
Nearly 900 miles using mostly DC fast chargers except for Edinburgh where I deliberately used a slow charger because we had hours in Edinburgh and it was cheaper to use (park and ride on the tram)
Same price as a tank of Diesel for a similar distance.
So I can honestly say I am fully committed to the EV lifestyle and could not see a reason to go back to a ICE car.
Regards
