I got an email from Evie recently and now so long as you have registered your car & payment information with them you just rock up, plug in and everything happens. I haven't tried it yet to see if it works.
For compatible charge stations only, i.e. newer models. Unfortunately many of their existing highway charge stations are not compatible with autocharge:

The incompatible list on NSW Pacific Hwy includes Cameron Park, Taree, Macksville and Tyndale. And further north in QLD Buderim and Noosaville.

So first proper road trip started today. Ten day trip north to find some cooler weather (which is wrong for sure) Headed out with 100% from our monthly balancing charge. 509km of range showing. Actual distance travelled 261km 41% left and 164km of range showing. Car was faultless frankly. We had our rack on the tow hitch with fridge freezer strapped on. So ran in ‘tow mode’ which disabled all the so called assists, I think I prefer it. A quick splash and dash at Gunalda while the pooch had a pee break. Cancelled a stop at Childers and ploughed on the Bargara. Where all the dogs are off lead and rushed over to say hi to my ‘Single malt’ Aussie Shepperd.
Chargefox charger worked 1st time using an RFID card. While we spent A$ in a local coffee shop. Beats giant servos every time. Heading north on Monday ? check out that sky!

What kWh/100 km are you getting on the country road trip ?

I would normally get 14 kWh/100km when temps are in mid 20s, at highway speeds, but last night it was down to 14°C and I was only getting 17 at 110 km/h.

Evie autocharge is great. I've only used it at Mittagong but I just plugged the car in, checked that it was charging and walked away.

Confusion rains and I'm getting wet  I've been looking at what cards/apps/fairy godmothers or what ever so the trip from Tullamarine to Mannum will be relatively smooth.
At first I looked at using Tesla chargers, because they have a good reputation of having at least one booth available .... but then I discovered they cost more per kWh...... that returned me to Charge Fox, Evie and RAC/RAA chargers ..... but it appears each require their own app and method of payment ..... PayPal would suit, linked to a bank account would suit ..... then there was mention of an RFID card .... can all the chargers be paid via an RFID card .... or it that just too easy to be realistic

All except BP Pulse should work on Charge Fox cards, That's a good one to have. The Charge Fox app will also work on your phone, just enter the station number and you're away. You can link a credit card to the app, so it's all seamless after that.

Only those which have an RFID reader can. You only need the one card, and you simply link that to each charge service.

Just make sure you know where the all access Tesla chargers are (and get the Tesla app/register). Hopefully the other networks are working or have no great holdups. I CBA mucking about unless I know it's available and working, which is why I prefer the Superchargers.

So it's worth getting the Tesla app as well? I see they charge per mth to be a card carrying member

I’m not quite up to speed on the efficiency figures and what they mean. But here’s a screenshot before we head out again tomorrow. This figure includes roughly 300km of home driving before we started.
I’ll try and remember to reset and record the return trip. Which we’re doing in one hit.
What this space ?

You don't need to be a paying member to use their app for the all-access charge stations. I've not paid anything, just the fees for charging like any other charge station brand app.

Being a paid member does however reduce the tariff they charge for charging, typically by ~ 15-20c/kWh.

I plan to pay the $10 for one month of membership in the lead up to an upcoming trip because it will reduce our trip charging costs by more than double that. It's not big $ but it's a bite to eat.

I'm sure no Musk fan but Tesla's chargers are just more numerous, available and reliable than the rest by a country mile. And when travelling a country mile those are qualities which matter quite a lot to me. I had one trip where charge stations by Evie, NRMA, BP Chargefox were all dead. It was not fun and despite leaving a lot of extra time it still ruined our plans.

This was the run to Agnes waters. 148 km no stops. 10% town and then between 80 and 100 kph. Most of the time it sat above 17kWh/100km I was trying to go easy on the pedal. Pretty flat leaving Bundy then there are some hills to go over.

Hi does anyone know if a tyre / wheel from a wrecked MG4 will fit on any of the cars wheels, i.e front left / right / back left / right ? I see a wrecked Mg4 and it has all 4 wheels so If I were to buy one wheel / tyre (as a spare for long country road trips) and if I get a puncture I can replace it with this from the wrecked Mg4 on any wheel of my vehicle ?

the advertised space save spare wheel says it fits all 4 so it's a very good chance.
I think the space saver is around $700.00 if that gives you a price reference.
However, I think different models have different diameter wheels. you'd need to check they are the same as yours.
