As for buying from Temu, AliExpress, MG Titan etc sure people can do that but then they risk variable quality and have no warranty.

Buying from an Australian shop like Evtrove or other local Aus competitors means purchases are covered by Australian consumer protection laws and have a warranty
The quality will be the same because they are obviously the same product, some photos are literally identical to those on MGTitan.

Also, Australian Consumer Law apply to all businesses selling directly to Australia, so your argument MGTitan comes with more risk is misleading. I would suggest refraining from making legal claims if you are unsure of the law.

Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) (the Act) sets out consumer protection provisions in the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

The Act does not limit the application of the ACL to Australian companies but stretches its reach beyond Australia’s borders. This is by virtue of s5(g) which extends the ACL to ‘bodies corporate incorporated or carrying on business in Australia’.

As a result, foreign companies which carry on business in Australia are subject to the ACL. Importantly, this includes the statutory guarantees of: goods being of acceptable quality (s54), goods being reasonably fit for purpose (s55), services being rendered with due care and skill (s60), and services being reasonably fit for purpose (s61).

When a consumer suffers loss or damage as a result of a breach of a statutory guarantee, they can bring an action for damages under s236 of the ACL.

In real life what is the enforcement mechanism that can make an AliExpress seller or a company like MG Titan based in New York care about the ACL
You implied these websites offer no protection under the ACL, which is wrong.

What does EVTrove care about the ACL in real life? If you import from China you can just get a new website and a new ABN. So many "what ifs" in real life. Also, EVtrove lists "no refunds on sale items" which itself is in contradiction to the ACL, so they already clearly don't care in real life.

Watch me install and review 6 must have MG4 protection accessories to protect my EV from scratches, scuffs, wear and tear.

I met the owner of EV Trove at Sydney International EV Auto Show while looking at the MG & BYD accessories at his stand, he offered to send me some so I could review them & let you know if they're good quality

Looking at the "sill protectors", am I right in thinking they don't actually cover the edge of the sill? I'm sure they would still do a job, but I'd be more concerned about feet being dragged over that edge than across the flatter section.

Also, does anyone do something for the secondary, stepped down area as well? I suspect that would take even more damage than the upper section.

AliExpress themselves have a reputation to uphold.
I've never had AliExpress rule against me in a dispute (I've made a lot of purchases and raised several disputes over the years).
AliExpress is ultimately the one who handles the dispute process, not the seller.
You raise a claim, then if the seller doesn't respond or rejects the claim it can go to AliExpress for dispute resolution.
In my experience it's been easier than dealing with some local businesses.

If you buy the rigid ones correct, they don't cover the edge of the sill.
If you buy the thick vynl ones you can place them however you see fit. I have mine covering the edge as my kids are on the younger side and they drag their shoes on the sills getting in and out.

Well AliExpress has a "Free Return" clause for items that sellers typically activate. I've in fact just exercised that clause for some Leather Seat Covers that I ordered which didn't exactly match the photos.
Picture showed cover with a decorative coloured strip that was tolerably inoffensive but when delivered also had the word "MULAN" embroidered in a prominent position.
Not acceptable.
Exercised the free return option with no drama.
The vendor tried to make the deal attractive by making it half price, but nah.
So off they go. AusPost return parcel label provided within the hour.
Simple.

So the Aussi 64 and 77kWh versions can receive the new navi with charge planning? Anyone tried it?

The problem is you have to go to the dealer to get the update downloaded. The car is capable of OTA updates but they (SAIC) won't allow it. I don't use Nav often enough to warrant the 60km round trip & the wait plus they are likely to charge for it. Easier to use Android Auto & Plugshare

Plugshare does not automatically calculate when to charge, does it?
It's not Plugshares strong suit, no.

ABRP can if you use it with an OBD dongle, or the home assistant SAIC add-on.
ABRP premium (paid version) is quite clever - it factors in elevation, weather, etc to its calculations too.

I'm not sure how good the MG Nav will be anyway - without OTA to keep its maps updated, it won't be able to factor in new chargers, chargers out of service, etc.

Even with the existing Nav software you can tap the chargers icon & it will calculate all the chargers within the vehicles current range but won't do this on a plan. My last trip from home (Corindi Beach) to Noosa (500km) had plenty of chargers on route up the Pacific highway & I selected a few & the car said they were within range. I chose a Chargefox one at Helensvale which is only 50kW but I just went to the shopping centre for lunch & 40 minutes later had plenty of charge for the rest of the trip.

The cars first service is due next August (2 years) & I'll be wanting all the current software updates done then. I can't understand why Infotainment can't be done OTA as it is capable of this. I just don't have the password.

Yes I've had it for a few months. it's ok for making a rough plan as you can see in my video

But it's nowhere near as good as an Android Automotive built-in EV trip plan eg Volvo EX30

I'm now officially joining the Camden Grey team...

I was supposed to be getting a blue, but with the delivery date still open ended after 60 days ("could be another month or two, they've had a factory problem with the blue paint*"), the dealer made a Camden Grey available in the next week or so. Looks like a May build on the paperwork, so not the newest batch but pretty close. I assume that means no 125kW badge on the back, so that's a good thing.

* Not sure I believe that.

Happy news you’ll at least be getting behind the wheel of your MG4! Don’t forget to share your experience with your dealer on the dealership page :)

One curious item on the paperwork "ceramic film". I've not authorised any extras such as ceramic coating or window tint, and the price hasn't changed from what was originally agreed. I don't believe it's been thrown in (nothing was mentioned), so not sure???

My choice was essentially any colour I liked as long as it was grey, so maybe a customer who had agreed to something didn't go through with their purchase? A simple mistake? Not going to say anything until pick-up time, though...;)

We got the ceramic coating, they give you twenty year warranty on the paint if I remember correctly, so it’ll be worth enquiring into when you pick up the car. Even if they don’t charge you for it, you should still get the extra warranty I would say.

I’m normally not too interested in those things but the car has to cope with a lot of nasties from birds and trees at school all day so we went for it.

Seems like it is a (wipe on, rather than spray) coating. I'd be curious how they can offer a 20 year warranty - need to see some fine print. AFAIK, 9 year coatings are the current bleeding edge. Must be regular top ups (recoats?) required to get to 20 years.

Can't really complain for a free upgrade, of course, although I do like to do a wax job myself. Wish it was ceramic tinting, though...
