MG4 internet, data limits

Is someone facing internet issues with MG 4 trophy in the Netherlands?

Do you mean that data traffic isn’t working. I and several others on Facebook are having the same issue. Can’t turn data traffic on, signal flips between 2g and 3G when it is normally 4g. No live services working.
Restarting infotainment doesn’t help

Seems like some kind of network issue, been like it for a couple of days.

Have emailed MG in case there’s a known issue

In the UK by the way myself, don’t think it’s country specific

This is still an issue this morning, whilst the OP hasn't replied several people in the community on FB are facing issues. Mostly those on R46 it would seem. Feels to me like a sim update ha stopped it working or something.

And like I said not country specific but not sure how you change the tags on a post.

I'm also experiencing this issue with r46 software. hoping for a solution to be available soon.

Experienced this earlier today. Toggled the frequency settings and that seemed to work.

Now, not so much... although it looks like 4G has just come back...

What do you mean by frequency settings?

Yes I’m getting a 4g signal sometimes but it doesn’t actually work. And it jumps erratically from 1 to 4 bars or 3G to 4g even when stationary.

When I go into wireless hot-spot, you can see the wireless frequencies. Those are the ones I toggled.

It looked to have worked earlier but not now

Ah I see, not in the car this sec but sounds like that’s 2.4 or 5ghz for the wireless network possibly, as opposed to the mobile data connection (which the hotspot does needs)

It turns the wireless off and then back on again... you can tell I work in IT!!

Don't think this will work as it's the data connection (4G) that's not working as I'm not getting Weather or Traffic Data.

Now my app will update this evening when the car is off after I cleared cache but if when car is on data doesn’t work. Weird

@Tomhasbeard, your profile is set to 'Not an MG' but I assume that is wrong.

Via limited experimentation the data traffic controls access to the internet. The App does not need it to be on. Although the manual says the data traffic can be viewed, I assume this means the specific data itself, eg the weather data, rather than the flow of data.

By 'traffic data' I assume you mean the traffic information on the satnav not traffic news on the radio. My satnav shows traffic buildups etc, no problem.

Has anyone found a better fix for this than 8.8.8.8?
I have entered Google DNS, but this has not resolved the issue of no internet in the car, and I have a 4hr drive, next Friday, with my wife and daughter to look forward to...

Has anyone tried a factory reset on this? Did it work?

If they have, how long does it take and what will I lose?

The data on my cars sim has stopped working, unable to access weather, Amazon music etc.
