Recently bought a used MG4 Trophy, 23 plate, no rear windscreen wiper.
Read previous posts on here with relation to the fault I’m having. 7kW home wall charger keeps aborting the charge. Does around 2kWh initially then keeps aborting after a further 0.2kWh or so. Having to restart constantly through the MG iSMART app.
Tried two different type 2 cables. We have around 15 7kW chargers at work. Issue persists.
Not tried DC charging.
My question. Just been to the Mg dealership, they can’t book any appointments for at least 4-5 weeks. Which is great. I'm still under the used car warranty from the 3rd party dealership for another 2 months. Should I go through where I bought it from? Or wait 4-5 weeks for MG?
Also IF rapid charging works, could I claim costs back? Surely I can’t be expected to wait around 4-5 weeks with a car I can’t drive due to not being able to charge.
