MG4 Reduction Gearbox Oil Leak

I haven't even got the car yet so I don't think they would listen to me. I'm just frustrated by the sheer stupidity of their response and actions.
I meant it as a general statement to everyone who experiences this. Sustained pressure on HQ may trigger a policy shift. Agreed no point doing this before it has happened to you.

I should be able to find out on Friday what (if anything) my dealer has done to my car when I collect it. (I'd sent them the checklist of issues a while ago, and reminded them again last week).

As educated buyers i would suggest that people start demanding the fix before accepting the car.
The dealers can also put pressure on MG UK if enough people start kicking up a fuss.
It's unfair on the dealers big time.
My 2 rejections will probably cost both dealers money (unless they just palm them off at RRP as demo cars and cash in)
It's very true that MG have hung the dealers out to dry.
It's like oh well we've supplied the cars, it's your problem now.
Piss poor on MG's part.

I totally agree with you Jester. It was what I was saying that it's not about the issues per se but MGs response to them that are putting some people off. I don't think people won't forgive issues and just take them on the chin but the response from the top goes a long way in showing what kind of regards they have for their consumers and for a comeback brand trying to get a foothold in the market and succeeding I should add, it will be almost like self sabotage if they don't become more responsive and proactive to customers issues. Imagine the view they have with the breather pipes, rather than just ordering for them to be installed across the entire production they are waiting for the issues to be raised. Not good enough.

Ridiculous response in my eyes, they know that this leak can happen on any car,

And that clearly is their hope - that it will not happen to the majority of owners.

I still don't understand how it can only happen on some cars unless there's either an occasional build error or an element of how the car is driven.

"Customer Service" anyone? ?

I still believe there are quite a few that are yet to be discovered. And MG must be hoping that the first time they are discovered is at first service. Hopefully they'll last that long.

Must be - I can't see any other reason for replying to a 7-week-old comment, especially when that query was answered 7 weeks and 70 pages ago. ?
