Has anyone tried a Saris Bones 2 bike rack on the MG4 Trophy edition?. I've seen the 3 Bones fitted but not the 2 Bones.

Hi - just had a weekend in the New Forest with two mountain bikes travelling from Kent. Bought the Saris 2 Bones and it worked a treat. on the MG4 Trophy. Took a hint from another user on here (thanks can't remember your user name) to use bits of inner tube or similar under the clips. (I used Neoprene as I had a sheet spare) No issues at all but it does affect the range. I reckon 10%. Didn't move around and for the cost it's well worth the money.

Hi, just looking for some more advice as just got my car and really want to transport my and my son's bikes. I have heard about the spoiler being an issue or nowhere for the feet to be placed underneath spoiler etc. My car is also leased so need to be cautious with paint. Tow bar option just seems an expensive outlay.
Do you have a picture of the bike rack fitted please?

HI - Sorry I don't have a photo of the Saris 2 on the car. The clips went through the spoiler and clipped on fine. Although this is all plastic it's very strong. two vclips to the top, two to rh side and two to the booth lid. I but the bikes top probably a little too high - the structs coming out should be horizontal or a little over. Once set up with the bikes I did stop 10miles in to double check the straps - tighten a little. You can see whats happening as the rubber foot sits on the rear window so you can see if this is dropping. Did M20, M25 and M3 without any issues.

What I would do next time is use rubber as Neoprene is very slippy on the paint work. Old inner tube would be better. No marks to the paintwork so all good.
