MG4 Secret Menu Mode...

Lets try this tomorrow… and we will see

How did you manage to do that?
The "Update Resource" process in settings.

That needs a folder on the USB called "manual" and will copy anything in there overwriting the manual on the car.

The basic folder structure is (for english):

\manual\Service-Portfolio-en-right
\manual\Owner-Manual-en-right
\manual\Navi-Manual-en-right

and it looks for an index.html file in each folder as a starting point.

Note that as soon as you do this, your original on car manuals are deleted.

is it only a local html viewer or it can be redirected to external URL?

EDIT:
Ok i tried to update with your folder structure, simple blank html, the update went ok and the infotainment rebooted, but now when I open the manuals it says "Webpage not available", looking for html file in these paths:
file:///Map/manual/EH32_Owner_Manual_EN/X1/Index.html
file:///Map/manual/EH32_Navi_Manual_EN/X1/EH32_Navi_Manual-en-left.html
file:///Map/manual/EH32_Service_Portfolio_EN/Index.html

So maybe the file structure is not the same for everyone

Ok i can confirm that for my car the directories are:

/manual/EH32_Owner_Manual_EN/X1/Index.html
/manual/EH32_Navi_Manual_EN/X1/EH32_Navi_Manual-en-left.html
/manual/EH32_Service_Portfolio_EN/Index.html

I tried a simple html
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=Google" />

but it's not permitted:
NET::ERR_CLEARTEXT_NOT_PERMITTED

It would be too easy :ROFLMAO:

It might be you can't redirect to a SSL/TLS (https://) encrypted page, you could try an unencrypted (http://) page such as www.faqs.org/faqs/
HTML:
It might be the app for the manual doesn't have the ability to load anything other than unencrypted content (AKA "clear text") and Google requires an encrypted connection.

Maybe we need a separate topic, but actually I didn't try any unencrypted http url.

So far:
  1. Javascript ajax get calls: JS works, but call failed
  2. iframe with my own web server (to avoid CORS): NET::ERR_CACHE_MISS
  3. Tried to load local pdf inside iframe: White page

Anyway i did few steps forward looking inside the R46 dump:
the APK responsable for viewing the manuals is actually called PdfReader_eh32_P.apk
Because i decompiled and inside there are:
<string name="entertainment_manual_path">/Map/entertainment/EP21_Navi_Manual_EN.pdf</string>
<string name="html_entertainment_manual_path">/Map/manual/EH32_Navi_Manual_EN/%s/EH32_Navi_Manual-en-left.html</string>
<string name="html_protfolio_manual_path">/Map/manual/EH32_Service_Portfolio_EN/Index.html</string>
<string name="html_protfolio_manual_path_X2_other">/Map/manual/EH32_Service_Portfolio_EN/X2_other/Index.html</string>
<string name="html_vehicle_manual_path">/Map/manual/EH32_Owner_Manual_EN/%s/Index.html</string>
<string name="protfolio_manual_path">/Map/sos/EP21_Service_Portfolio_EN.pdf</string>
<string name="vehicle_manual_path">/Map/vehicle/EP21_Owner_Manual_EN.pdf</string>

but, the internet access is not enabled in the manifest and the webView path is forced to be local file://

things to know: we have a pdf reader for manuals, according to the manifest this apk has the ability to read and write files. Next thing i'm going to try is a simple html form with a browse button...

Good night

I found this new secret menu (at least for me).
As soon as the car is turned on, the blue stripe does not appear in the navigation sector for about two seconds, if you quickly press the gray arrow the screen goes into "secret setting" mode where there is various information regarding the navigator...

Great info, for me no action on this arrow.
Which version of infotainment have you got?

Labougie

I have an Xpower version 1300R46, I also tried on the Luxury (1300R46)... The blue stripe appears only at the first start, if you try again it doesn't appear anymore and you have to close the car for a while or reset the display...

Bonjour à tous,

J'ai les codes, mais impossible de déclencher la zone de saisie.
Auriez vous une idée svp?

The Comfort is the SE LR, yes? The engineer menu on all SE models is accessed via the phone keypad.

Code:
#*#4479*#*

As soon as you type the final * the menu should appear.

Doubt it. Don't think you can by law.
Why would you want to? ?
Switching it off WHEN THE CAR IS STATIONARY would be a very nice feature.
Sometimes I like to spend time sitting in the car. When I turn the car off using the switching off button, the lights go off, but the air conditioning also stops working. I want to create an environment where the air conditioning works, but the DRLs don't disturb people.
