I found a way to activate the climate on my phone.... In the last few months, the air conditioning was no longer turned on.
The method tested today worked:
1. Outside is - 3°
2. I try to turn on the heating, from the phone _ it doesn't work. Many attempts...
3. It seems that the climate in the phone turns on, only if I first activate the Car Battery Heating, then turns on the Climate - it works...
Everything from the phone through the Mg App.

Was your MG page populated with numbers when you first opened the app? Sometimes you need to obtain a status first (second icon from left) before other commands are executed. Perhaps your battery heating route does the same or it could be that the low temperature stopped the cabin heating.

Yes, I find that opening the status page fixes several app issues.
