MG4 Trophy Speaker Upgrade

This weekend I've installed the Hertz C26 OE tweeters in my Standard/SR model (so only with speakers in the front doors). Used a 3D model as found on the German MG4 forum, so the Hertz tweeter can be installed in the original bracket without a problem. I cut of the back side of the original tweeter and glued it to the back of the Hertz tweeter, so I could use the original plug.
The difference is amazing, it actually sounds really decent now, a lot of detail and good stereo separation. Compared to my old car (Volvo S80 with a factory hifi system) it almost sounds just as good, but lacks volume (but that system could play deafeningly loud :P)

Hi all!
I have a Focal RSE 165 kit with woofer, tweeter and crossover.

Can I mount it directly replacing the original speaker without crossover? I think there is one of it integrated in the car amplifier. If not, do I have to use capacitors on the tweeter? What capacity? Or do I have to use its crossover even if I already have two separate lines?
Thank you in advance!

I used the supplied crossover, it worked fine - just stuff it in the hole next to the tweeter, there's plenty of room. (Not your exact speakers, some Vibes, but they look similar). I think the original crossover capacitor is integrated into the old tweeter (if there's one at all).

If the speakers are 25W RMS then I'd say the amp has 12V supply rails so outputs will be 18-25W per channel.
"Edit that would be for 8Ω speakers, just noticed the one pictured is 4Ω which on 12v could theoretically give 35-50w, if it's 2Ω stable it could have a theoretical output of 70w"

Generally higher wattage speakers due to the construction to allow them to handle higher power (thicker coils, stiffer suspension etc adds mass & rigidity) they're less sensitive.

If you swap speakers from 25W power handling to say 250W power handling on the same amp you could find the max volume before distortion has dropped by 10+dB.

You might prefer the sound but be disappointed at how loud it can go.

PS I generally have the volume at 15-20, about 23 the distortion is too high for me.

I may or may not fit my Focal mid tops but I'd be looking at amping it if I do.
I just installed new speakers TS-A1601C | TS-A1601C (tweeter 40 RMS and Woofer 80 RMS, 4 Ω. 3rd order crossovers) and audio quality is definitively better. I have full dynamic range now, which stock speakers did not provide.

But I can perceive a tiiiny bit of noise coming from the tweeters when too much is going on (even though the crossover cuts at 6kHz).

I suspect it could be solved with a more powerful DSP amplifier. That's 1200€, so that will have to wait. But it's a big improvement already.
