As per my review of the Turanza 6 on an SE SR where I did detect an ever so slight vibration from the OE tyres (PremiumContact C made in China), maybe a contender as a replacement for the OE Turanza T005 on the XPower? That's if you want to stick to low rolling resistance touring tyres rather than opt for more sporty rubber.

I'm going for more sporty rubber. The power and torque needs them IMHO and the ride quality is pretty good to start with I think for this type of car, so should'nt be too compromised.
You won't be disappointed.
My upgrade has significantly improved all aspects in all conditions IMO ?

Thinking about getting the Hankook Ion EVO AS tyres. The Highland Model 3 is switching over to these from Pilot Sports. Anyone have them, or any insight?
Also just found out that Hankook makes a summer version of the AS (All Seasons). It's more of a performance tyre, 320 treadwear instead of 600 for the AS.

Pitted against the Pilot Sport 5, the Hankook Ion EVO has much better rolling resistance, braking in wet and dry, and probably a whole lot quieter, but the Pilot 5 has the edge with dry handling -

Just wish they were available in Australia ?

My dealer fitted michelin e primacy to our X-Power as part of package to reduce vibrations. They have definitely helped, are much quieter and have more grip in the dry at least (haven’t tried them in the wet). They are around £160 a corner.

They are no pilot sports for sure (we have super sports our fiesta ST - fantastic tyre) but massive improvement in all areas over the crap OEM tyres.

So 5000 miles done on my PS5's and just 1mm wear all round!
(Figures from this week's service)

7mm left, all round which really surprised me.

I reckon I am in sport mode 30% of the time but still expected to see more wear on the rear tyres.

Zero complaints regards grip and handling in all conditions.

Highly recommended. ?

MG4 Tire Change Roll Call (see this post)

Well sadly it seems that the Aussie/NZ fix is making zero difference to the vibrations.

Can anyone who has changed tyres on their X Power please tell us if it has made any difference and what you had fitted.

I'm sure there is someone on here that has done it, but I can't find it.

Really making me think about swapping out my tyres now.
On the whole, I am happy with the Bridgestones, but if they are the issue, I will get shot of them.

I've started this post as there are now at least 3 different discussions going on, and it would be handy if the tyre changes aren't mixed in with the other threads.
Hi, I bought a new ER 8 months ago which came with the unique Bridgestone recycled plastics composites with which I noticed the vibration which comes in at around 70 mph and progressively worsens with further speed. So I changed them for one of the best premium All Weather tyres: Michelin 'Cross Climate 2's to no avail sadly. So I took them to my dealership for road testing. After rebalancing and tracking check, still to no avail, so now looking to take it further as not what I paid for. Especially as planning a trip via the autobahn ! How depressing is that going to be.

Expecting delivery of my new XPower next week, in Dynamic Red and have been giving some thought to the stock tyres. These are chinese versions of Bridgestone 235x45x18 Turanza 5's as I understand things.

I have a Seat Leon ST (FWD) that also came with standard Turanza 5's and TBH found them to be pretty decent. However, living in the chilterns on a ridge between two valleys/steep hills I upgraded to Turanza 5 Weather Control and the difference in the wet and cold/icy conditions is night & day, whilst still being good in the dry.

Hence, considering the latest derivitive of these, Turanza 6 All Season (seen good write-ups) for the new car and which, I hope, will give far better year-round performance. Alternatives would be something like Michelin CrossClimate 2 and Goodyear Vector 4Seasons-Gen 3.

Kwik-Fit currently giving 20% discount on the Bridgestones, so helps nudge the decision in that direction Tyres Online With Low Prices & Fitting

The exam question (and yes, I know this is extremely subjective): Is there an optimum tyre for the XPower/What do you have on yours?

Some discussion previously in this thread. It's very subjective really as to what people are looking for - such as best dry grip/handling or a nice quiet ride (EV specific tyres) or winter use with All Weathers tyres etc.

Should help the decision. It might also hinder it ?

I replaced the original Bridgestone EV tyres that my new MG4 EX came with immediately with a set of Mitchelin Cross Climate 2 due to the rumbling vibration that begins and increases from 70 mph but to no avail. I now suspect the rear roof spoiler so will remove it and see.

I wonder if this is the same vibration as in the Xpower?

Mmmm... adds the Continental All Season Contact 2 into the mix. The Bridgestone probably still edges it for me but in the 24hrs or so from posting, KwikFit have changed their offer from 20% to 10% discount, so not so great now on price. Will roll the dice again when I'm in possession of the car and see what deal I can get!

Judging from all accounts, i.e. our mutual attempts at elimination by tyre replacement and rebalancing, even so - called extra 'fine' balancing which I elected for on fitting ( mine from Formula 1 Autocentre.co.uk ), it's NOT the tyres !!

As a matter of interest, do the MG models without the rear roof spoiler have the vibration problem ?
