MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

I'm the same, we will see...one of our Aussie friends has said this morning that the fix is only a $5AUD rubber part but costs $1000AUD to fit and MG doesn't want to fit the bill
Not sure how true that is unless it’s labour costs to fit in which case even at the $30-$40 the mechanic at best would be paid per hour i doubt it takes 24hours to fit !!
So I’m not sure where they are getting $1000 dollars to fit !!

Unless it’s a complete rebuild of something to fix in which case I could see big dollars still dont see $1000aud in that ..

Then even if at best there has been 30 XPOWERs sold in all of Australia 30k isn’t expensive in the grand scheme of things!

! highly doubt the amount of X powers sold in AUS that have the Vibe issue would exceed 20 to 30 cars max !!

One thing for sure is the issue is gaining momentum, more and more people are taking an interest, talking about it and prospective buyers are asking questions.

Not too good for MG.
Yes and No ive spoken to my dealer and got the we will contact you and they never bothered..

At the end of the day if MG give customers the run around enough customers will ( sadly like my self ) just give up ..

Who has time to fight and fight over and over for a fix and what volume of people before the deem it worthy ?

At this point i think MG's plan is to sit on their hands till the minority stop complaining to save themselves $$$

Are you on the FB group? I'm going to keep fighting and one guy is starting civil action

We have good lemon laws here in Australia, one letter to MG after 10 to the dealer and it was go time.

I feel so lucky to be one of the aussie vibers , such an honour. I slap a K on their desk to fix it! Its driving me mad. Ill then spend another k on a manure delivery.

If MG do make any mechanical changes will the E11 codes get updated, has anyone with cars made in 2024 got different codes to these from a 2023 car? (on my car these are on the drivers side rear door b pillar)

I finally got to try out my XPower and the vibe issue today, it was delivered last Thursday, I tried speeds between 65 and 75 on a dual carriageway and on the straights and through corners I did not experience any vibration.

I have not modified the tyres in any way, pressures are 2.6 Bar all round as it was delivered to me.

One thing I can't work out is the manufacturing date, it's a lease so no paper that indicate this, I checked under the bonnet and under the parcel shelf for dates but unable to locate any.

Any idea where I can look, where should the date be under the parcel shelf?

Look in your paperwork to see if you have the factory certificate of conformity. The manufacturing date is on there.

It's a lease car, so the lease co. have probably retained the CoC. If the CoC was present then it should be in a plastic wallet in the glove box.

Mine was built 28 04 2023 (probably)

I haven't checked again but I can say for certain that sticker does not exist on the underside of my parcel shelf, that I deinately would have noticed when I checked yesterday.

There is a dark square on mine where that sticker probably lived, but it is no longer, checked in the boot, under the floor and down the back of the seat but it's missing.

Hmm, I can't upload the picture for some reason.

Funny took mine on the freeway the other day and the vibe got worse the faster I went which it’s never done before 100km to 110 115 I get the vibe /hum now 120 130 140 it’s getting progressively worse the faster I went ..

But definitely the front motor issue of some description as I toggled it to eco and it disappeared

Taking it to a different MG dealer tomorrow to see what they think ..

As I explained I’m not happy with the vibe and previous dealer experience!!

Also asked if they would lower the car for me with the springs I bought.

Service adviser said he wouldn’t have a issue with doing it personally but he needs to run it by the service manager ( who is on holidays) so fingers crossed it’s a go because can’t have any knock backs I wouldn’t think if MG themselves does it..

I also don’t see an issue because MG Australia are looking at custom in house upgrades which include the same H&R springs I bought!

Will keep posted on the outcome of my visit MG tomorrow

Mine is going in to the dealer on 28th Oct...earliest they can do with a courtesy car, which will cost me £24.

They are stating that it's a stepped tyre issue...which I don't believe(Bricktop has changed his tyres and still has the vibration) and I will start to get very fed up if it's the start of going back and forth to the dealer.

I know of someone whose car is at the same dealer this week for the same issue...again, they say it's stepped tyres, so he is going to keep me updated.

I'm waiting for them to say it's a 'characteristic of the car', if they do, I will want them to show me where it says this in the X Power brochure.

Allegedly the rear driveshaft which has been replaced with a newer part on newer cars .... but who knows, it's only Facebook chatter ...... and SAIC are so secretive I doubt they'll ever admit to it.
