Hello, I am sending you a comment from the Facebook MG4 Xpower Vibration Complaints Group. Warmly
The spiel MG has also been sent to us now. ? I can't answer because our situation is now with the lawyers. I will wait for their advice.
MG Motor UK is aware of reports from some customers regarding a vibration suffered in some units of the MG4 XPower model, especially at speeds above about 55 km/h.
After thorough inspections and evaluations of several vehicles, it was concluded that this vibration is the result of the transmission of road feedback by the vehicle steering system at higher speeds. This feedback is a feature of the MG4 XPower model, largely due to the additional engine and the modified suspension and steering geometry unique to this variant.
It is important to emphasize that this vibration does not indicate any safety problems or compromise the mechanical driving of the vehicle. Therefore, no repairs are required for this issue. The vehicle continues to operate within the limits of its expected operating parameters, and vibrations should be considered an inherent feature rather than a fault or failure.
However, MG Motor UK acknowledges that some customers may find this vibration disruptive or annoying, even if it does not affect the safety or performance of the vehicle. We always attach the greatest value to the pleasure and driving comfort of our customers. In response to these concerns, we explored potential options to help reduce the sensation of vibration that some drivers feel through the steering wheel.
After extensive testing, the most viable solution identified was the installation of a flywheel shock absorber. This shock absorber has been designed to reduce the amount of road feedback transferred to the driver, thus minimizing vibration perception. Although the shock absorber has proven effective in many cases, it is important to note that its success may vary slightly from one vehicle to another, depending on the production tolerances of the compos This nevertheless remains a valuable option for customers looking to reduce the vibrations they experience.
MG dealers are welcome to install the steering wheel shock absorber for any customer who wishes to explore this option, provided that the vibration characteristic is confirmed during a test drive by an MG technician. This allows for a tailor-made approach, ensuring that the solution is applied only when it is necessary and beneficial.
We are also aware that an internal MG communication, which referred to a development proposal involving replacements of suspension parts as a potential solution for vibrations, was shared publicly. This communication was published internally in April and has since been tested. Unfortunately, it was found that this proposed solution was ineffective in reducing vibration on British models. As such, it is not pursued as a resolution for this characteristic.
MG Motor UK remains committed to providing the best possible driving experience for our customers. While no repair is required for vibration, we will continue to offer the steering shock absorber as an option to customers who feel it could improve their experience. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to maintain the highest standards of customer satisfaction. "
