MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

Then it's a leap of faith somewhat. Supposedly cars manufactured after December 2023 are meant to have been fixed (check the manufacture date on the Certificate of Conformity). Check dealer is aware of the issue and make it clear the car will be rejected if present is the best you can do.
I genuinely think all they are doing is adding the steering damper to all cars, hence it's helping some but not all and probably only masking the issue

Unless you go on a good test drive, like say an hour, with a good 20 mins of that on the motorway. You might not even notice the vibe, even if it's got it. You won't notice it, just going around the block or even a good hour on normal roads.
Only a Good long test drive will do.
Trouble is you can't have good long test drive, if it's an ordered one.
Unless, as mentioned, elsewhere, you get it in writing, that you can reject it, immediately, if it's got the dreaded Vibe.
So it's, Catch 22. Pot Luck. Prayer mat. 🙏
Obviously shouldn't be like that. 😱🤪

I noticed on ours the first time we went over 66mph but then I was aware of the issue from all the helpful posts on this forum so was on the 'look out'. However it was pretty unmistakable straight away but then I am quite sensitive to steering feel/feedback.

No vibes at all on the demo car I took out a few weeks ago. Totally smooth at all speeds including on the highway, mine is due in February, can't wait.
It's definitely variable from car to car (or certainly was, if they have now fixed it). I had half a day driving a demo in February that was registered in Sept 23 and that had absolutely no vibrations. I wandered what all the fuss was about so on the back of this ordered ours.......

I pushed them a little on the damper and got this back......note the use of the word 'fault' by MG CS, handy, lol.

"Good morning James,

Thank you for your patience.

The damper is basically a shock absorber for the vibrations, a repair for the vehicle fault."

I've been racking my brains over the last few days, what would I do if I got the car rejected.....one of the reasons we went for the X was I'm sick of paying 'luxury' tax on 2 cars....there isn't much out there I'd want without swapping to a lease.

Luckily our main mile muncher is a big diesel SUV so the X will do limited longer motorway trips...if the damper and pumping the tyres up to 40 psi helps, keeping it may just be the least worst option until the PCP is up then walk away.

Maybe a black badge and some interior mood lighting will take my mind of it :)

There you go sorted. Munch the miles with your diesel suv. And Munch other cars with your X Power. 😉🙂
Black badge and Mood lighting would be nice. 🙂👍

I had thrumming for the first time today. Motorway, ~100-110 km/h. It started just as the surface changed from tar to concrete, and that's what it felt like. Driving over a slightly rippled concrete surface. A bit later the tone became deeper (I'd probably changed speeds) and a bit more vibey and annoying. You know how sometimes leaving a car's window open at speed can cause a drumming that gets in your ears? It was like that, but much softer, if that makes sense. Not awful, but not welcome.

Later, my son was driving. He couldn't feel it, neither could I as passenger. I'd been in normal, he was in sport (and mightily impressed with how quick yet controllable it was). 🤷

You said, it started on the the motorway just as you went from Tarmac to Concrete. Well it would, Concrete sounds/feels awful, when driven on.
Even if you didn't have the vibe, it would sound/feel like you did. 🤔

That was exactly how I described it at the start!
Don't worry!
It's a characteristic of MGs poor engineering of early build cars, that you will just have to lump.
Do you have a build date per chance?

Funnily enough. I mentioned the Vibe problem to MG Chorley, as I thought I might have the vibe. Still can't make up me mind, have I got it or am l imagining it.
So thought I'd register it, just in case.
I got a Text today, from Chorley MG, saying, regarding your steering vibration, some parts have arrived for your vehicle. Contact us at your convenience. Now I don't know what to. Let them fit, whatever parts have arrived. Or just roll with the car. As I've heard on here, the steering damper, if that's what has arrived, actually made things worse. I'll probably nip down to the dealer, and have a look at what parts have been delivered and take it from there. At least Chorley MG are showing an interest in the problem. 🙂👍

Just back from Chorley MG. To look at the part, for my X Power.
It was the Steering Damper thingy.
So I'm giving it a swerve. As it seems it's ineffective and in some cases, makes it even worse. As I've said I think I can detect something at a steady 70mph.
But it is very slight, if indeed it's there at all, and I'm not just imagining it. I think with some of the descriptions of the vibes, if I had it, I'd certainly know about it. So I'm leaving it well alone. And think myself lucky. At least now I can go ahead with me new alloys, as I was just waiting to see what this part was. Told the parts chap about how bad some had the vibes, and was there owt else in the pipeline for the vibe. He just said, don't know. 🙄🤪

Mine's a 2023, so I knew it could be an issue.

I've travelled at those speeds without issue before, but not at steady motorway pace. Interestingly, when I changed modes from normal to sport, it instantly moved below my threshhold of intolerance. I doubt that's a solution. On long motorway drives I won't be using sport. 🤷
