MG4 X-Power waiting area

It’s the new novelty factor

Wait a year or so and there will be good deals around for the xpower
Indeed. Got sucked into the 'EV's are worth more second hand than new' phenomenon just as it all collapsed and the market returned to normal, don't think I'd be tempted by a new car again.
Nice to be the first bum on the seat but the novelty soon wears off.
Eight months on mine has 8k on the clock, stone chips all over the soft paint and the new pup has peed on the rear seat, doesn't really feel like 26k well spent any more ?

A 430bhp petrol car would potentially be a highly stressed nightmare as a second hand buy but barring crash damage, I think the xp will have no more issues than the single motor cars.
Hope plenty are sold so I can snag one in a couple of years?

You remember when you got 11 points on your license.....?

That was a long time ago (in the mid 1990s, actually).

Pet pee on seats is one of the reasons I bought the AliExpress seat covers. The rear seat covers just arrived an hour ago (they sent me the wrong design to start with) so I need to fit them now. On Sunday the cat basket was in the boot, on top of a sheet of plastic and then a folded towel. (I removed the parcel shelf so this wasn't animal incarceration.) Actually it worked so well I might make this a permanent routine, and sod separation anxiety.

If you’re transporting pets may I suggest NOT getting the xpower, they’d need a racing harness ?

I agree. It was bad enough when I tried the sport mode accelerating from 30 to 50 and my two greyhounds ended up against the tailgate. The look on their faces was priceless ?

If you have an animal in the car, drive it like you're driving a horsebox.
I do usually having been used to driving little human animals aka school children, and adults in a big red bus but it was the first time I had tried sports mode and it caught me by surprise.

Fred : " Eh Henry do you think we are going to vets for that operation?"
Henry : " No, I saw the tight git setting the sat nav, the fatherless purveyor of alcoholic beverages is just going to drive up and down that road with loads of speed bumps."
Fred : "Crikey, now I,ve got a lump in my throat."
Henry: " You,ll have more than one lump in there in half a hours time."
Fred : " What can we do?"
Henry: " Howl , Howl like you,ve never howled before."

Agree, I only have 1 greyhound but my wifes look matches when i accelarate.
Another factor in holding of from an xpower order just yet.

For anyone considering an xpower I’d suggest going to try one as in my limited experience so far. It feels like TOO MUCH heh.

Nobody NEEDS that amount of power. A fair few will want it though of course but it genuinely feels excessive.

In default mode, setting off out of the dealers I was barely tickling the throttle to get out of the junction and around the roundabout. I later played with the pedal force settings and around town “comfort” is quite nice. Sport makes it feel like that scalextric analogy in the OPD thread.

Especially as the OPD is remarkably good (again, in my limited experience. I was surprised how it worked well from speed and even on dual carriageway NSL roundabouts (with a bit of what I’d consider) “late braking”

I am keen to try the ER, not really because I need the range but to see what the extra power delivers. Anyone know if these are also appearing as demo cars yet? I haven't noticed any reviews.
There are some out there, one was mentioned by a member the other day
