So we just bought our MG5 Excite and are so far very happy with it. We bought now as I was guessing when MG brings out the next MG5 model it will be more MG, less SIAC, and therefore more expensive...and it looks like we weren’t wrong:
New 2021 MG 5 EV facelift steps up to 249 miles of range | Auto Express
I’m glad we bought when we did because I doubt anything family sized will be this cheap for at least another year. Question is will MG end up cornering the cheap end of the EV market or drift up into the £30k+ realms of almost every other manufacturer?

Why can't it do both - a range of models to include a budget hatchback, premium SUV and halo sports car in addition to current value-orientated SUV and estate car.

That would be best, but I suspect the temptation is to keep adding premium features even at the lower end and edging the cost up. I may be wrong but I don’t think we’ll see a 200+mile family car with the storage capacity of the MG5 at sub £23k for another few years after this model is face lifted. I hope to be proved wrong there though...we need more affordable practical EVs available and the MG5 has shown it’s possible.
