There is a lot of chat about the MG4 LPF and NCM but what powers the various MG5 models.
My SR Excite has a NMC battery.

No. Long range are NMC, standard range are LFP.

LFP batteries have a lower energy density than NMC, i.e for the same volume they have a lower capacity and are therefore only used in SR versions:

PFL LR: NMC 61kWh (57kWh useable)
FL LR: NMC 61kWh (57kWh)
PFL SR: NMC 52kWh (49kWh)
FL SR: LFP 50kWh (46kWh)
