i know its not formally announced yet, but anyone know the battery sizes they will be offering?

From the information I've seen it will have the same battery options as the MG4 (as it's built on the same platform, and already available in China), So 49, (formerly 51), 64 and 77 kwh battery packs

I hope when it gets over here they bring out a bigger battery version.
If they do it would be ideal for my needs, all I wanted was a mg5 with rear wheel drive and a 70+kwh battery at a reasonable price point

As @EvTek23 said, it's using the MG4's drivetrain, so I fully expect a 77kWh "extended range" version to appear.
